“Would highly recommend.”

Beautiful, well equipped cottage in fantastic location. My partner and I stayed for 5 nights with my 2 children (aged 6 and 7) and we were made very welcome by the owner. The cottage was spotlessly clean on arrival, and had all the amenities we needed. After we left, the owner was very helpful in returning to us a couple of things that we had accidentally left behind.
Would recommend to anyone with children as plenty to do from just pottering about on the beach infront of the house, to dolphin watching along the road or trips into nearby Inverness.

We spent three nights here. Everything you could ask for. The pictures don't really do it justice (stuff in the pics that looks old is actually brand new, designed to look "of the period."). We stayed here in the middle of a two-week trip, so having the clothes washer on site was most convenient (saved both time and money from having to go to a launderette). Suzy was waiting for us when we arrived to hand over the key and give us a thorough tour of the property.

Avoch is a good base (within an hour of many major sights) and watching the sunrise each morning over the firth was priceless (and plenty of easy walking trails in the area). The village has a couple of good takeaways (especialluy Gabi's), although I would recommend the co-op in Fortrose (3 miles away) for grocery purchases).

“What a beautiful cottage!”
Reviewed 28 September 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We've had the pleasure to stay four nights in this beautiful cottage. It has a wonderful mix of old (but very clean!) furniture, lush carpets and a modern bathroom and kitchen. We found everything we needed for our stay. It was the perfect place to start exploring the area.

Right in front of the house, just over the one lane road, starts the sea. We had a very nice view each and every day!

The owner, Mrs Fry, was very nice and helped with many information and recommendations!

It is very sad that our stay was only so short. We do hope to visit again sometime soon!

“Perfect location & well equipped cottage”
Reviewed 29 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Right from when I enquired about the cottage, the owner couldn't do enough to help. She kindly accommodated our dates and provided contact details for arrival day. The cottage is infront of the beach overlooking the sea. The cottage was well equipped with everything you need, and had little extras such as condiments & a lovely welcome bottle of wine ! Thank you ! The village has a small shop, take aways and a pub serving delicious food. It is in easy driving distance of Inverness, Cromarty and of course Chanonery Point where we spent many hours photographing the dolphins ! We also loved the gorgeous cottage garden with the pheasants. Thank you Suzane, we would love to come back to this idyllic location and your homely cottage.
