This is a market with live music, maybe 10 food tents and a bar. Very easy parking and access to toilet.

Located right outside of Cicada Market, Tamarind Market caters to the ones that want a more genuine food market experience. Try anything from grilled toast to fried silk worms.
The setting is humble in comparison to Cicada, I think the locals would prefer it as the prices are not as high as Cicada.
If only I had discovered it before eating a huge meal..

We absolutely loved it here and would go Friday and Saturday for 4 weeks.

If you have children its best to arrive around 5.30 to avoid the crowds and the food vendors have just started cooking so you will get the freshest food available first. We prefered the food here rather than Cicada Market however we enjoy street food and we felt was more authentic. A fresh fruit smoothie will cost you 25baht, sushi 5baht per piece, satay sticks and rice 30baht, noodle soup 25-30baht and our favourite was satay sauce with vermicilli noodles 25baht!!

There is a little bar with plenty of seats around however if you want to save a few baht head over to the middle section of the market where you will see a small restaurant with concrete tables and chairs the beer here is really cheap!!

The mRket itself is not very interesting, but the food market is excellent if you like thai street food. We trie a whole fish, salad and rice, 2 cola at a price round 300 Bath, and it was really value for money. There was a littele crowded, but the thais are really nice and polite and offered us place at their table - thumbs uo :-)

Really nice market to find lots of foods, drinks and do some shopping for souvenirs .
Prices are a bit cheaper than at Cicada market which is right next to it.
Very crowded on weekends, but it has a good feel.
If you go to Cicada market its right next to it, so check it out and then you can compare both
