We were initially looking for somewhere to stay in Ilkely but left it too late to find somewhere and I'm so glad we did. Addingham was the perfect place to stay - a beautiful village, with four or five pubs, a fish and chip shop, an Indian takeaway, a Co-op big enough to do a week's shop, loads of footpaths for going off on lovely walks, and in easy bus access for Ilkely and Skipton. There's even a couple of places to go wild swimming in the River Wharfe.
The cottage was great - in a good central location, with a great kitchen, cosy sitting room (including an easy to use wood-burning stove), a lovely little patio garden (with barbecue) overlooking a brook, a good bathroom (with freestanding slipper bath and separate rain-head shower) and two good bedrooms. The telly didn't seem to be fully working but we mostly had gorgeous weather and lots of books with us so it wasn't an issue. The neighbours were really friendly and helpful too.
Beckside is a lovely cottage down a little cobbled mews with fields at the end.
Beautifully presented with everything you could need. Comfy lounge and bedrooms, great bathroom, well equipped kitchen diner and a sun trap courtyard in the back.
The spiral staircase is cosy for a gentleman of a certain size, but easy once you get the hang of it.
Addingham is a lovely village very well served with (5!) pubs, an Indian takeaway, Co-Op and The Addingham Sandwich shop that does great salads we took out on our walks.
Lovely walk from the cottage down the River Wharfe to the Devonshire Arms and Bolton Priory beyond. And easy access to lots of other walks around the Dales including Simons Seat, Malham Cove, Patterdale Bridge and of course Ilkley Moor which is 5 minutes down the road.
Looking forward to a return visit.
P.S Heather was really helpful and friendly throughout.
What an absolute delight. Backside Cottage is warm, cosy and had everything I needed for a holiday cottage in Winter. We had snow during my visit and the cottage stayed warm and toasty and the fire in the living room was an extra treat.
Super comfy beds and sufficient storage space for my 3 weeks stay.
The cottage was spotless and well equipped and furnished to a high standard.
Heather the owner was responsive and very helpful and I would highly recommend a stay here. Addingham is a pretty village and is situated in the most stunning countryside.
(The spiral staircase might be a challenge if you are on the large side or have mobility problems.)

Beautiful cottage in a lovely village. Parking was not too much of a problem. The cottage was lovely and clean. Nice outside courtyard style garden with seating. Excellent place to stay.
We spent a full week at Beckside; lovely cottage with everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
Although Heather was abroad during our visit, her replies to our emails were immediate, so this was perfect. The nextdoor neighbours are lovely too; we chatted a couple of times on our way in/out.
And of course there's the Dales, Addingham is a nice little town on its own, but it is also perfectly situated for venturing further afield.
All in all a lovely way to spend a week in the north!
