“Great room, great location”
Reviewed 28 March 2012

I stayed here for one night on business. Very friendly check in, large, well appointed room; spotlessly clean. Huge comfy bed; I slept like a rock. Bathroom was scrupulously clean (although one of the handles on the bath was a little wobbly and the shaver socket didn't work). The toilet paper was cunningly hidden inside the little cupboard under the sink, causing momentary panic when I needed it.
Breakfast was cheerfully and promptly served, and checkout was quick and efficient.

Having stayed here once before my husband and myself decided to have another night away here as we loved it so much the first time. My husband decided for that little bit extra to treat us to the Penthouse suite....... it was just perfect. Can't find one thing to complain about and can't wait for our return visit. As parents of 3 children we don't get away on our own much so when we do it has to be worth it and this hotel definately is. Would recommend it to anyone wanting to escape for a couple of nights.

Our family group of six stopped in at Bailey's early one evening close to Christmas, naively not booking ahead but expecting we would have no trouble in ordering bar food- only to find the bar completely full!!
Two of the staff members immediately offered to see if they could seat us in the main dining-room, even though that was busy also. After a quick check they said they could accommodate us if we wouldn't mind vacating our table in time for the next reservation, which was more than ample time for us!
We ordered a variety of dishes which were served promptly by two lovely waitresses. The food was amazing. The ambience was great. (Well, it WAS Christmas)! But what made it so much nicer was the friendly manner of the staff, who are so important to the success of a business. A smile really does go a long way....
Thank-you for accommodating us so well and at such short notice!

We were refused service in their Cellar Bar by the owner on the grounds that our party of five adults and four children would not allow him to make money. The restaurant was a quarter full on a Sunday evening at the time. I found the owner to be the most ignorant owner I have met. I'm sure the food is lovely but from an ignorance stand point the owner of Baileys Hotel stand head and shoulders above all else I have met.
Spend your money in the Cashel Palace is my advice. Excellent food and a proper Irish welcome.
