“Beautiful cottage, Friendly, helpful owners, perfect holiday.”
Reviewed 22 October 2013 for a stay in September 2013

I stayed in the cottage for one month and it felt just like a second home.
The cottage is a very decent size, room for more than four people easily.
The kitchen, living room and bedrooms all come with everything you could possibly need and more and if you find something else that you would like Carol and Neal will be happy to supply it if they have it handy.
There is a lot of wonderful sights and things to do nearby, New ross is lovely and the dunbrody famine ship is an interesting day out, and Kilkenny has so much live local music every night that i almost didn't manage to see all of the bands i wanted to. Most places in Ireland are easily accessible from the cottage and you can get up to dublin or down to cork in 2 hours or less.
I had the misfortune of suffering a car accident while on holiday and Carol and Neal could not have been more helpful, picking things up, driving me to get a rental car and even baking me some scones.
I was sad to leave the cottage and will be keeping in touch and returning when i can

“An Amazing, Idyllic Retreat from the Hum-drum of Daily Life.”
Reviewed 9 September 2013 for a stay in September 2013

Teach Carraig is one of those 'little gems', that you wish you'd discovered before. Superlative's really don't sum it up, but it IS 'Idyllic', both in location (only 1hr from Rosslare) and it's 'Situation'; nestling on the side of a hill above the river argylle. As a new conversion, it offers a spacious and airy, fully equipped kitchen/diner. Lovely and cosy lounge with log burner, satellite T.V. and Wi-fi connection. The downstairs bathroom with walk-in shower along with the spacious, yet cosy downstairs bedroom, were a real plus for our co-traveller's; as one has mobility issues. Upstairs, the second bathroom has an old fashioned styled, free standing tub/bath; ideal for a long soak after a busy day. The second bedroom is as generous in size as the first, yet cosy and the whole lay out of the property gives a real sense of 'Space'. Owners, Carol and Neil McCormack, are excellent and caring hosts, offering advice and hint's and tips of local amenities and points of interest and couldn't be any more helpful/lovely. The rental charge for the week was outstanding value for money and we'll all definitely recommend Teach Carraig to anyone whose contemplating a visit to Ireland.

“Beautifully renovated stone cottage in an idyllic, peaceful location”
Reviewed 3 September 2013 for a stay in August 2013

Teach Carraig is a beautifully renovated stone cottage set in a peaceful location with lovely views across the countryside. After a 2-3 hour journey from Dun Laoghaire port, we were met by Carol and Neal who gave us a warm welcome. Nothing was too much bother for them. Our 2 year old daughter was well catered for with a bed rail, booster seat, DVDs, toys, books and even a tricycle, which made our lives a lot easier!

The kitchen was very well equipped with microwave, dishwasher, washer-dryer, fridge-freezer, etc. as well as everyday essentials such as washing-up liquid, washing powder and all the pots, pans and crockery you'd need to create a feast for the whole family! Attention to detail was second to none.

There is lots to do in the area. As we were only staying for 5 days, we chose to visit local sites such as Woodstock Arboretum, Kilfane Glen and Waterfall, and Kilkenny, which was a great city to explore. Our daughter loved running around in the Castle's vast gardens, and the children's playground there is great. The Design Centre opposite the castle entrance is worth a browse too - as well as crafts and gifts, they have an artisan bakery/coffee shop, and a lovely cafe upstairs. There is also a great leisure centre in Kilkenny called The Water Shed with a 25m pool for serious swimmers and a separate children's pool area - remember to take a swim cap with you though, otherwise it can be expensive to kit everyone out with the compulsory headgear! If you don't feel like jumping in the car to sightsee, there are some nice walks along quiet country roads on the doorstep of Teach Carraig - we spent a lovely morning with our 2 year old collecting big, juicy blackberries - she was happy, we were happy, it was free, and we had fresh blackberries with our porridge every morning!

I would definitely return for another holiday, and highly recommend this cottage and the lovely owners. If you enjoy all-inclusive holidays in the sun, with Kids Clubs and entertainment laid on every evening, then this isn't the place for you, but if you need to get away from it all and enjoy what nature has to offer, Teach Carraig definitely won't disappoint. Enjoy!

“Perfect family retreat in a beautiful location”
Reviewed 15 August 2013 for a stay in July 2013

This is a spacious, stunning cottage set in a beautiful, quiet location with lovely views across the countryside. We arrived at the property in the evening after a long drive down from N. Ireland. Carol gave us a warm and lovely welcome after following her very clear directions from the website.

The kitchen was set up for the first night/morning with tea, coffee, bread, milk, butter. For our children (3 year old twins) there were plenty of children's DVDs, games, toys, colouring in papers, crayons, booster seats, potties, toilet trainer seats, stair gates... everything we could've needed for them! Her own children even kindly brought down their own books to share with our twins.

There is lots to do in the area, most touristy places like Hook Lighthouse, Blarney Castle and Cork are within an hour or two's drive, though there are loads of things to do locally if you don't want to venture too far... Woodstock Arboretum, Dunmore Caves, Inistioge, Thomastown. Be sure to stop at the Blackberry Cafe in Thomastown, the food is incredible.

I would definitely return for another holiday, and highly recommend this cottage and the lovely owners, it's a real hidden gem. We were so sad to leave!
