Spent 5 days at Hagal on an Art retreat.....the place grows on you to the stage were you say 'I could live here for ever'. Fred and Jenny are brilliant, great cooks and just wonderful people, I eat a vegan diet and they catered so well, I think my food was better than everybody else's and theirs was class home cooked local ingredients, most of which is grown on the farm.
This a rural location ideal for getting away from it all....go and experience a better way to live....

Just back from my daughter's hen party in Hagal Farm, a remote "rural retreat" 15 kms inland from Bantry in West Cork. We had a fantastic time in a stunning location with views of Bantry Bay in distance. There are two linked houses accommodating at least 18 and a cosy farmhouse vibe. Very clean. Large table in main kitchen for dinner and tables in conservatory for breakfast. Lovely stove fire in large sitting room. Large sky room where 14 of us tried out a yoga class! Massage also available for those who wanted. Our girl drove down from Cork but there is a local person available.
We were really lucky with the weather on the Saturday and had an idyllic party in a glade area of the beautiful gardens. Think sun, trees, rugs, balloons, swing, banners, picnic, prosecco, music, flowery dresses, unicorns......! Yes, it was magic!!!
Highly recommended for family or friends get together, relaxed self-catering style. And 2 days was fab but too short!

So you follow the intricate instructions of Google Maps and if you're lucky you land on the parking of an out of this world place... Steps walking under an arch of vegetation guide you through a circumvoluted path loaded with little surprises at every corner, up to the house. And then you get in through the patio, which has a vine canopee intimately lit with cute little fairy lights, there is a piano; and then the house unfolds layers and layers of quirkiness and beautiful homely feeling onto you...
Natascia welcomed our group that weekend, with tons of energy and lovely smiles. She made us all feel at ease and took the time to show us all the grounds, pointing some hidden treasures along the way, one of them is a beautiful labyrinth, as well as making sure that the house had all the welcoming details down to a dot: bouquets of flowers on tables and strategic places, immaculate bedding, fresh towels and complimentary soap...
I still can't believe I have been lucky enough to stay in that fairy tale, surrounded by unbelievable people. And I just want to go back there!
