We were told by a local to make sure we stopped at Griffin's and we weren't disappointed. The pints were cold and the atmosphere was true Irish. The tvs are all tuned to Irish football and the locals are friendly. It is not uncommon for bars in Ireland to not serve food. So, unless you are having lunch, plan on having a pint or two at Griffin's and moving on to dinner at another local establishment such as Guy's.
