We only stayed one night but from the moment we arrived to the minute we left we were well looked after by an attentive and considerate staff and management. Our room was big, comfortable and clean, but its greatest feature was the picture window that over looked the water. Drinks at the bar and dinner in the dining room were excellent. I had originally though the hotel was in Clifden itself, but now, having stayed at Ballyconnelly, I recommend it as a place to enjoy the quite beauty of the Connemara country side in County Galway.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the water.

We stayed here for two nights recently for a local wedding. Great location, lovely breakfast and the room was clean, bright and spacious. Staff especially friendly and efficient! Many thanks and look forward to staying again.

Family run great location great service place.
They have several type of rooms
We chose a family sleeping a couple and a third person
There is a garden view and a sea view on a lower ( plus 15 euros )or higher floor ( plus 25 euros) well worth it
The service is warm and impeccable
We drive straight from Shannon.
We highly recommend this nice family run great hotel

Great views, good food, pity about room toilet hygiene when we arrived!!!!!!! Least said the better. Dining room has beautiful views, but do we need peat fires in June, all our clothes smelt of peat for the rest of our touring holiday. The food was really good, especially the fish and breakfast.

I discovered this gem many years ago and after a lapse of a few years I stayed there again on the June Bank Holiday Weekend. It's 3 star Rating does not do it justice---everything about the Ardagh is excellent--- the rooms, the restaurant, the lounge, the service and the location. The location overlooking Ardbear Bay makes for superb sun-sets from the excellent restaurant. The restaurant is popular with the locals---always a good endorsement and the food is excellent. The décor and ambience is modern and the front suite rooms are spacious and comfortable and look out over Arbear Bay . Altogether a most relaxing experience and great value for the standard of hotel and restaurant. For a stay in the Clifden area, I cannot recommend it enough. Stephane and Monique have now been joined by their son, Serge and this hard-working family team run an excellent hotel.

Room Tip: Front Suites are spacious have a great view over Ardbear Bay
