“Well maintained house with everything you need and more”

I stayed there with 3 other ladies and it was great to be able to have separate bedrooms and almost enough bathrooms for all of us. It was reasonably priced and would be perfect for a large family. There is every mod con you could wish for and a lovely garden and patio area.

The only thing I would say is you definitely need a car.

“Perfect for big families or groups of friends”

The pictures correspond exactly to how the house is - well decorated, spacious, fitted out to the last with everything you could need !
It comfortably housed us for a week, and served as base-camp for a nearby family wedding - the big kitchen with great family table was a great help for this. There were 3 couples staying there all week, along with a rotating cast of extras, and having 3 large bathrooms was a major plus.
Beautiful rural setting near Rathbarry.

“A stunning country home, beautifully finished, tranquil setting.”

I recently stayed in this lovely home along with my husband, 2 year old daughter, her grandparents and aunt. Photographs on this site represent the house exactly as it is.....stylish, well finished and beautiful throughout.

It is situated in Rathbarry, a tiny village, about a 10 minute drive from Clonakilty (took less when we got a taxi back as he knew all the back roads! Cost us €10). Rathbarry has a great beach....Red Strand, which is a few minutes drive from the house. The house is off the beaten track, up a tiny country road. It is surround by a few houses but mostly countryside, plenty of space for a 2 year old to ramble and potter around.

The house was very well equipped. Many holiday homes leave you the bare minimum, I didn't find that with Kilkern. All mod cons are of a high spec. We could access mobile coverage in areas of the property, unfortunately nowhere in the house, outside near the viewing point worked for us. Excellent broadband coverage.

Overall, this house oozes character and charm, it has a great atmosphere to it, old meets new! We are already looking forward to returning to Kilkern.

My elderly parents, in their 80's, my three children, 15, 12 & 8 yrs old, and I stayed for a week in Kilkern and were very pleased with the accommodation, fittings and furnishings, location and garden space. The kitchen is huge and very well fitted with a very large combined gas & electric stove, american style fridge/freezer, together with ample worktop, well-stocked shelves & cupboards.
The house is in rolling countryside, surrounded with working farms, but only a few km from Clonakilty and Roscarbery. The area is peaceful with hardly a sound apart from the occasional passing car.
There is a beautiful view of the sea and Galley Head from the garden.
