First time bus tour for us and chose Urquharts Donegal break.
We wanted a complete change from the usual local pub do and I'm glad we gave this a try.
The coach was comfortable and the driver John was an excellent guide and driver, a credit to his company.
The Hotel is in a smallish town midway between Donegal and Sligo.
An old building that has been a Hotel for many years. But it is in excellent condition inside and out and has been obviously looked after by the owners.
The foyer, bars, reception, lounges and entertainment areas were all very warm, tidy, decorative and welcoming. A large number of teddy Santa's, decorations etc adorned the entrance and the reception areas. The owners took the time to make this a very welcoming sight.
The bedrooms are much larger than the usual hotel size. Very comfortable, carpeted, well appointed and with all the necessary resident requirements both in the actual room... mirrors, lights, tv, hairdryers etc. And in the bathroom plenty of towels and toiletries.
Meals:
Breakfast had a large selection of self service starters followed by a choice of cooked meals which were more than adequate.
Dinner.... had choices of 3 course menus which was excellent. Food cooked to perfection and served piping hot on hot plates.
All the staff are to be congratulated in their manner, appearance and helpfulness. They could not do enough for the guests.
Their employers should be proud of them.
All in all we thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would recommend the Dorrian's Imperial Hotel to other travellers.

Roy,

Thank you for your lovely comment on the hotel and we are delighted that you all enjoyed yourselves. We concur with your comments on our staff. We endeavour to work with our staff and treat them like family members as we do with our guests and we find that we have very happy staff, which augurs well for everyone.
It is the first New Year that we have had for many years - we used to close for Christmas and New Year and January and February, but we must admit that we thoroughly enjoyed having you from Scotland with us for Hogmanay, as did all of us.

Again, thank you for taking the time to send your comments and we do appreciate it very much and we wish you and your family a very Happy New Year.

Sincerely,
Ben and Mary Dorrian

Dear Mrs MacGregor and Mrs Mrs Wilson,

Thank you for your lovely comments on your stay here.
On the last night, we just wished to give you a different flavour in our Thatch Pub with Traditional Music and Open Fires. We thought that you may have been tired after the 3 nights. We would willingly have driven you up, had we known this was the case.
We will have to review this , as we could have had the music here on the last night.

Again, we are very pleased that you had a very pleasant stay and indeed going to the trouble of sending in a review.

Thank you both again, and we wish you and your families a very Happy New Year.

Sincerely,
Ben and Mary Dorrian

I spent the night here back in July while walking around Ireland in aid of Pieta House, and they generously put me up for the night! It really is a lovely place to stay - I was given a warm welcome upon arrival, and was set up nicely for the next day's walk by a deep sleep in a comfy room and a delicious breakfast in the morning. Thanks a million!

Eamonn,

Thank you for taking the time to write your comment on Trip Advisor.

It was very nice to have you with us. What you did was very difficult for Pieta House - it is not easy to walk on your bare feet on roads, but you did it, so it was a pleasure for us to help out in our own little way.

May we take this opportunity to wish you and your family a very happy Christmas and New Year.

Sincerely,

Ben and Mary Dorrian.

It's definitely been around for a while, with large rooms well furnished. The dining is quite good and the bar and sitting areas are lovely. We were here as part of a music tour, quite large, and they could accommodate all quite well.

We visited with part of a coach trip/tour on arrival we were greeted by the lovely Mary who welcomed us all into what i thought at first reminded me of Faulty Towers...... This hotel grows on you very quickly with all its wee quirks nooks n crannies. The lovely Lucy is a must to meet whilst you are there .... The food is basic no fine dining ...it improved as the week went on.
However, the staff can not do enough for you nothing is to much trouble I would go back to stay there again definitely
