This is a fantastic gem of a museum to Michael Davitt in the heart of Straide Foxford Co Mayo. The place is lovely and quaint, the staff are beyond friendly and make it so welcoming to children with tea /drinks and biscuits for visiting and watching about Michael Davitts life. I am only from up the road in Bohola but living in London but love coming to visit this museum and the grave of Michael Davitt-- well done to all involved

The museum sets out in a very clear manner the extraordinary life of Michael Davitt and has a lot of artifacts from his life. He is buried just behind the museum. The staff are ready to give a guided tour to visitors. Michael Davitt deserves to be better known. No entry fee but since it is a voluntary operation, a donation is recommended.

This is a great museum, we learned a lot about Michael Davitt and all he did in an almost private tour. He was a great Irishman everybody should learn more about. He fought for rights of Irishman, facing the British empire. And there are more curious things about his life. Great audiovisual, too - and we were also invited for coffee and cookies, we felt very welcomed there :-)

An excellently maintained museum with a passionate and very informative guide, John. I knew nothing about M Davitt before our visit. John gave us a colourful and riveting history of Davitt the man which lifted the man from merely a line in history. I had no previous knowledge of Davitt's global influence nor of the extent of his work and care for the ordinary man and woman. We could do with his likes again. Thank you to John and the museum. I would well recommend a visit to Straide.
