Oh, Pax, we miss you so. Pax was an absolute highlight of our eight night stay in Ireland. My mom, sister, and I stayed for three nights, two in the bay view room and one towards the street since there wasn't availability the third night. We loved the bay room but the other was very nice due to all the greenery and lanterns John adds outside the windows.

And on to John. John has that much desired but rarely achieved quality of remembering people's names. There are twelve rooms at Pax where people rotate daily, yet John was able to remember all of our names for the duration of our stay. I was pretty amazed. It is one of the simplest yet most telling signs of the kind of host he is.

John's attention to detail really made our stay memorable. From the fresh flowers by the beds to the little chocolates to the beautiful artwork throughout the home, it was all amazing. Breakfast couldn't have been cuter with its mini jams and that crazy bird stainer thing to pour tea in (never did get the hang of it but sure loved using it!). And talk about delicious! John's working his tail off in the kitchen each morning so don't think he's hiding, he's making magic. Even the garnishes are a detail that is attended to.

Lastly, John really showed that he enjoyed helping his guests when he offered to drop us off at a restaurant on his way to the store. We had arrived fairly late and weren't familiar with the town yet. (Be sure to check out The Blue Zone, it's fantastic). On our departure we didn't have an exact address for our GPS and John offered to call our next B and B and gave us clear directions to get off the peninsula.

The best decision you can make is to book this B and B for your trip. We hope to return in the future!

Room Tip: The bay view rooms are worth the small upgrade!

A menu for breakfast! Tea or coffee with a balcony and/or living room view "to die for" of Dingle Bay. You might even catch the dolphin playing in the bay with the tourist boats. John will give advice as to where to go, which routes to take, make reservations for dinner or tours, and pamper you. It is really difficult to leave. Short drive to downtown Dingle, and John tells you where to park. Delightful!

Room Tip: Specify ocean view or not. The ocean view costs more, but is gorgeous.

We stayed for 2 nights in Pax Guest house and highly recommend it for a stay in Dingle. We only wish we could have stayed longer. John was informative about what to do in Dingle. He offered us tea (with leaves!!!) in Royal Doulton cups upon our arrival!! He also offered to make us tea after a day sight seeing late at night. John went truly "above and beyond" during our stay. The room was comfortable and the views are really the BEST in Dingle as advertised. I would highly recommend the sea view rooms. The breakfast was sensational. The most memorable part of our holiday in Ireland was our stay in Pax Guest House, Dingle.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms are well worth it

John was SO helpful whether for food recommendations or information about activities in the area. Great view of the bay with the opportunity to see Fundy (the dolphin) n her natural habitat. A bit out of town, but the walk is enjoyable (although it does involve a hill).

We had a wonderful stay at the Pax House. Just being in the house is practically a vacation in itself. John has a vast, eclectic art collection, and the views are absolutely sublime. We had a room with a patio and sea view - a big splurge for us, and my only advice would be that we didn't really need the patio - the common room is very inviting and has a beautiful patio area with ample seating. This was hands down the best breakfast we had in Ireland - and that's saying a lot, given how many B & Bs we stayed at. Porridge with Bailey's Irish Cream and whiskey-soaked raisins with brown sugar. Yes, please. We will definitely return, and John was full of information and helpful guidance. Books abound in the common room about local sights and Irish culture. While you're here, check out Slea's Head drive.
