“Perfect hideaway in the foothills”
Reviewed 21 May 2018 for a stay in May 2018

Imaldris Cottage was the perfect cottage for a double couple retreat! There is plenty of room for four and both bedrooms are beautifully characterful, especially the attic ensuite. The whole house is full of charm and little details that create a warm and cosy feel;equally the space is light and airy and very nice indeed on a warm sunny day (breakfast on the terrace!). A bit difficult to find and parking limited but options for more parking nearby. Perfectly situated for both tourist attractions and the wilderness of the peaks, with a pretty riverside town (Matlock) with good amenities a stones throw away. All in all a wonderful stay - Thank you!

“Worth the climb!”
Reviewed 19 May 2018 for a stay in May 2018

From the moment I put the key in the lock I loved this cottage. Every room very nicely decorated - very clean and comfy. Lots of interesting ornaments but did not feel intrusive or suffocating. Three of us stayed so power shower en suite plus airy, attic bathroom were a real luxury. Enjoyed the garden and views of High Tor - a challenging climb up steps from the road so not for the faint hearted. A 20 minute or so walk to bustling Matlock Bath and the cable cars & trains - or to Matlock and Sainsbury's. Would have welcomed a welcome pack if only a pint of milk and biscuits.
P.s. Paul (the owner) very kindly rearranged our booking without question after family illness plus snow put paid to original Feb dates. He replied promptly to emails too. First rate and thank you!

Perfect location. Surrounded by ideal walks. Good local pubs.
Cottage is lovely, beautifully decorated and very cosy. Has everything you should need.
You need to be fit for the many steps though.

“Stunning views and picture-perfect cottage”

We enjoyed our stay so very much. The cottage is renovated and decorated to every detail with love and attention. The views of the cliffs are amazing and having tea on the terrace looking at the view is fantastic. The kitchen is fully stocked for cooking, the washing/dryer was very helpful, and both bathrooms were like visiting a spa. We enjoyed being so close to the towns with shopping and antiques. Absolutely perfect holiday get away!
