Lovely quaint pub, beautiful setting and very clean. Good drink selection but would be nice to see a kopperberg etc on draft.

Didn’t eat here but other people’s food looked lovely.

Wasn’t the friendliest of welcomes though.

Great pool and darts table

Worth a drink!

Called here today (lunchtime not pre-booked) as I was born in Youlgrave which is a few miles away. It was a very hot summers day and we were tired and hungry. The Cock and Pullet ticked every box, it is an absolute gem. Fantastic village setting, excellent food (try the local sausages and if you have a pudding go for the treacle sponge)) and well kept beer. Very good service, not expensive and friendly informative staff. What else could you want? I did not want to leave.

Visited this Pub with a friend who shares his name with that of the village and indeed has ancestry in the area. There is a menu withe something to suit all, although fortunately we stuck with just an item from the mains which was excellent as well as being very generously sized. I couldn't eat another morsel after that. There is a range of generous starters and sweets menu which I did not partake although judging by the comments of other diners these were equally as impressive as the mains.
As with all good hostelries there arere a variety of both hot, and cold drinks together with real ales which are kept in perfect condition. The pub is wheelchair friendly and the toilets are very clean. Together with friendly staff and traditional pub atmosphere it makes the Cock and Pullet a most enjoyable Pub to visit. I will definitely return if ever I'm in the Derbyshire Peak district.
