A great place to stop on the Monsal Trail. We stopped here at the start for a takeaway coffee and again for lunch after a long walk. We sat in the covered outdoor seating area as we had a dog, but blankets were available as well as patio heaters.
There was a long queue to order the food but it arrived quickly and was hot, well presented and generous portions. There is a large menu which caters for everyone. All the food we saw looked great. They staff were very efficient and helpful. Very good value.

On the Friday we did a circular walk starting and finishing in Bakewell. We had pre ordered our lunch for 19 people. Arrived on time and in no time all the food was put out. Hot food was hot and the cold food cold and very fresh. I have read other reviews where people have said how long food can take but this place is the only place for literally miles and in good weather at a weekend is packed so delays are bound to happen. All I can say is the staff were brilliant and couldn’t do enough.

After a long but immensely enjoyable cycle ride on the Monsal Trail, we were looking forward to lunch and cups of tea, but the queues were so long in the crowded restaurant and tea bar that we gave up on both after a long wait. Hassop's loss was another's gain.

Stumbled across this gem whilst cycling 8 miles from the Anglers Rest (see separate review) at Miller's Dale to Bakewell.

Still warm & sunny, despite it being October, so we could sit outside - just as well as we had our Pug with us!

There was a bit of a queue inside but it didn't take long to get served and be furnished with our drinks, and then the food arrived super quick! We had sausage toasted sandwich, which hubbie said was delicious; bacon sandwich, equally so; children's homemade burger and fries, which was lovely too.

Loved hearing the story (from the cookbook I purchased in the gift shop) about how the family who owns it stumbled across the dilapidated station on a bike ride with their children back in 2010 and set about transforming it into a fabulous cafe, restaurant, children's play area, and bike hire that it is today.

Would highly recommend for a pit stop. A great midpoint on the way to Bakewell and we hope to return one day.

Stopped here a few times whilst walking the Monsal Trail and never disappointed.
Good selection of food - especially cakes - and drinks.
Decent bookshop and gift shop on site as well.
Well worth stopping here.
