We stopped for lunch during a cycle ride of the Monsal trail and found it to be a really pleasant, clean and friendly place.

Good choice of food for adults and children, freshly prepared and served quickly.

Good value food and drink, even when busy service is very good.

Now open evenings as well for more formal dining.

I’m always sceptical when visiting cafes in tourist areas as the food doesn’t have to be great as the customers tend to be single visitors. However I am glad to say this cafe bucks the trend. Great, home cooked, tasty food served with great, friendly staff. Great size portions, average waiting times and of course set in a fantastic location. Best of all you can stuff your faces as the walk will burn off the calories. We had a selection of meals, 2 burgers, 2 jacket spuds and a cheese toastie. The burgers were moist and really tasty with lovely portion of fries. The spuds were done in the oven although a crispier skin would be welcomed. Prices are really reasonable as well. Thoroughly recommend the cafe and the area. We’ll be back

We went on bank holiday Monday which was crazy busy. Only had a 20 minute wait for 4 bikes though. Great way to see the trail.

Stopped here for a light bite for lunch while cycling the Monsal Trail. Good choice on the menu and tasty food. Food was a reasonable price, but drinks were a bit expensive. Husband and I went for the toasties which had unusual but delicious filling choices and children had a jacket potato and burger - burger had a strange taste and was only half eaten. Service was quick and cafe was popular, and there was both indoor and outdoor seating. Toilets could do with cleaning. Would return if we cycled it again.
