Spacious room with a large bed and 2 chairs, shower room to a high standard. The bar has flag stones a open fire with a lovely atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and helpful serving good wine and beers. We eat in the bar both nights and the food was delicious the star being the pheasant from the specials menu.

We could not have been more charmed or pleased with our experience at The Castle Inn. It started months earlier with Tom, the GM, who was communicative and helpful in booking us and making accommodations for our kids. And it ended with Tilly, who graciously helped us as we arrived to the Inn late (we had tickets to a concert at the Music Centre nearby). She got us checked-in, seated, fed, called us a cab, took care of our billing, and chatted with us later that evening as we wound down our trip with one last pint and g&t.

All of the above should be expected in hospitality but it’s all too rare. And still, our experience stood out. We were treated as family. The place is to-die-for charming and warm and the rooms are absolutely lovely. (And they are quiet and feel very private, even above a pub.).

To our deep disappointment our stay was literally only 11 hours from check-in to departure. They still made this impression on us. Well done. We would return in a heartbeat, and hopefully can stay longer than one next time.

We stayed in room 4 which was decorated lovely. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. We had an evening meal and breakfast which tasted amazing and was reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend and would love to return soon.

Ideal place to stay. Clean, warm room. Excellent food and fantastic beer. Would definitely recommend it. The staff were very friendly. This place is a real gem in a beautiful part of the country. Hope to be back soon.

Staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room was very comfortable although it would have been good to have brighter lights and shelves at the side of the bed. How good to have such a fast-boiling kettle. In spite of the room looking out onto the roundabout it was not noisy.
