Ideal place to stay. Clean, warm room. Excellent food and fantastic beer. Would definitely recommend it. The staff were very friendly. This place is a real gem in a beautiful part of the country. Hope to be back soon.

Staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room was very comfortable although it would have been good to have brighter lights and shelves at the side of the bed. How good to have such a fast-boiling kettle. In spite of the room looking out onto the roundabout it was not noisy.

We stayed one night at The Castle Inn on our way to Devon. Our room was fine, marred only by a toilet that kept running. However, the staff were very helpful about this and reduced our bill as a result. The bed was large and comfortable. The dark brown carpets on stairs and landing did show signs of not being hoovered recently. Breakfast was rather strange as it was all requested from the bar and seemed understaffed that morning.

Room Tip: Could do with instructions re the heating which was a radiator in the bedroom and switches for the under floor heating and towel rail in the bathroom.

Gorgeous Georgian pub with shabby chic interior, wood fire, lovely staff and delicious food. Have stayed 4 times now and will be back. Don’t be put off by the unprepossesing front onto the main road, the entrance is prettier and the experience inside lovely.
