Lovely accommodation and food. Very helpful and friendly staff. The room itself (room 1) was slightly dark due to colour of walls and the decor a little tired -could do with a re-paint. BUT the room was huge, the bathroom gorgeous and the furnishings were tasteful and quirky. The bed was very large and comfortable. There were lovely little touches which elevated the quality of the stay such as real tea and coffee in the rooms.
The venue itself was similarly tasteful (in a retro-cool way) and the fact that it is a pub doesnt appear to intrude on the sense of privacy when in the rooms.
One aspect to consider is that the Castle is at the top of a very steep and winding hill. Not an easy walk back from the centre of town!More
