“Home from home, lovely view out of the back.”
Reviewed 5 January 2017 for a stay in December 2016

We have been several times now as we were so impressed by Dennis and Doreen, the owners, really make you feel at home.
The location is ideal for visiting Bournemouth, Poole, Swanage, Dorchester, The New Forest, Salisbury and many other locations.
Very comfortable bed and great view out of back patio door.
We hope to visit a few more times this year.

“Delightful Annexe with Great Hosts”

Our stay with Doreen and Dennis was just what we needed to conclude our six weeks of travel in the UK.The cottage was immaculate. Our hosts couldn't do enough for us and the lovely freshly baked cake to welcome us was an excellent start to our stay.It was so peaceful, tranquil and we even had a fox visit one day! I made good use of the washing machine and cloths line, so badly needed at this stage of our holiday. We visited the nearby New Forest, twice, so it was convenient to our interests too.Thank You Doreen and Dennis, you are wonderful hosts.

Many thanks Doreen and Dennis for a lovely stay at Highlea. Very pleasant surroundings and comfortable accommodation. Wish weather could have been better despite mid-July.

“A fantastic home away from home”
Reviewed 7 June 2016 for a stay in May 2016

The accommodation was fantastic. I stayed there with my husband, 9 year old daughter and 15 year old son for 4 nights during may half term and there was more than enough room. We have stayed in many caravans over the years and this was far better. They had everything you could think off. The kitchen had all the equipment you could need, really was like a home away from home. My daughter slept in the single bed which was in the master bedroom while my son slept on the sofa bed in the living room(which had to be put out every night and folded away every morning but was very easy to do). The bathroom was spotless and even had underfloor heating that was a nice bonus. No need to bring towels as they are all provided, they even had dressing gowns in the wardrobe to use it you wanted.
Outside was a nice little seating are that looked over the countryside and Horton tower in the distant(it's about a 25 minute walk to if you feel like it). There's plenty of information and leaflets in the the accomadtion to give you advice if you stuck for some thing to do.
The hosts Dennis and Doreen are lovely. We got on great with them. Loved hearing the stories about there trip to Zambia, my daughter loved the story about the hippos and elephants. If you need anything they are always around to ask and nothing is to much trouble but at the same time they understand you are on holiday and leave you to get on with your own thing with no interference.
We traveled down from the Midlands and stopped off at Avebury and Stonehenge on the way(highly recommend), so when we got there it wasn't till about 7pm, but on arrived we were pleasantly surprised to find a chocolate cake made for us by Doreen which was just the ticket after a long journey.
To me the place was brilliant, smack, bang in the middle of Dorset for easy access to all the counties attractions.
We enjoyed it that much we going to try and go back beginning of December if we can find the time, but will definitely return again some time in the future.

“Wonderful Trip, had by all”
Reviewed 15 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We had such a lovely time, very relaxing place. The view from the garden was amazing, looking out across fields. The accommodation was of a high standard and everything was available to make it feel like home from home. Doreen and Dennis are lovely host's, so helpful with information about the area and the lemon drizzle cake was delicious. Our dog's loved their walk in the woods and though we were in a small village, it was close to so many places to visit, which really suited us and our dog's.
