We stayed at The Vieques Guesthouse for a week in the off-season (Oct 2018) and found Niki/Steve to be knowledgeable and friendly. Small things like knowing which beaches were closed, best snorkeling, and recs on restaurants can really save you from frustrations. We had Room8 which was spacious for two (Queen, bunkFull/Twin). Some times i worry booking with smaller places will leave me with sputtering AC or dribbling cold water showers - not so here. All conveniences for a lovely stay were provided. The shaded balcony overlooking Esperanza and the ocean gave us an even more spacious feel and nice place for take home meals. The location is off the main drag which can be noisy with loud music and rowdy partiers, but is a short easy walk away. Roosters and dogs are the typical small island sounds you'll hear. To add to others' comments - the island is ready for the tourists. Yes, the island is run on generators but they are FEMA driven ones for the grid so no brown outs or noisy gas powered ones onsite.More
