“A "get away from it all" experience”

This holiday venue is ideal for those who need a complete rest and relaxation break. It is away from the hussle and bustle of resorts and shows Portugal in it's traditional surroundings. There are things to do nearby - the local towns and beauty attractions are well worth a visit. The villa has everything you need for a restful holiday and trying to get the children out of the pool will probably be the greatest challenge of your stay!

This is an ideal base to travel and see Portugal. Clean accommodation with all the necessities including kitchen, washer, Wifi etc.

Would definitely recommend this to anybody with a family especially as it has a great private swimming pool.

If you are looking for unspoilt natural beauty and somewhere to get away from it all for a week or two, this is the place to go: located in a tiny rural hamlet, the villa is absolutely ideal for couples or families wishing to recharge the batteries. Tucked down a sleepy lane lined with hanging vines and fields of fig and olive trees, the villa has been lovingly restored and is in a fabulous location on the fringes of a forest packed with pine and eucalyptus. There are no noisy neighbours here, just the occasional chug of a passing tractor and the sounds of the crickets during the heat of the day. The villa has everything you would need for a relaxing, comfortable break, from a fully-equipped kitchen, two bathrooms – one of which has a walk in shower which was so enjoyable it was easy to lose an hour in there! – and three bedrooms, including a lovely mezzanine master bedroom. TV and free Wi-Fi are also provided making it easy to stream films and TV shows or spend time online, while the Portuguese countryside offers excellent walks and biking trails in some of the prettiest landscapes we have ever seen. The icing on the cake is a fantastic swimming pool which overlooks a tiny valley surrounded by woodland and farmers’ fields, where you can see the locals at work amongst the fruit trees and impressive vegetable patches. A barbecue area, outdoor shower, patio for sunbathing and a gated veranda add to the ambience and are perfect for outdoor lunches and evening meals, and the pool floodlights can be turned on for swimming as the sun goes down. The pretty village of Graca is a five minute walk north of the villa and has a rustic bar/restaurant and local store, while a short drive away – a hire car is essential here, by the way – lie towns and vibrant cities such as Serta, Figueiro dos Vinhos, Tomar and Coimbra, with plenty of sights, activities and shopping. There is so much to do in the area, such as water parks, speedboat rides on Lake Cabril or just lounging on the river’s edge at one of the many inland river beaches, that we found it hard to squeeze everything in so plan to return next year. This is Portugal at its very best: untouched by mass tourism, richly traditional and with warm, friendly locals. Staying at the villa is the best way to enjoy a brilliant experience in the heart of the Centro region.

“Gorgeous pretty traditional Portuguese villa set in a beautiful valley location”

From the moment you open the doors to the terrace and look out over the private secluded swimming pool into the stunning valley beyond you know you have found a piece of heaven.
The Vila itself has been lovingly renovated to a high standard and still retains lots of the old features from its humble origins as a wine adega.
Walk out to the end of the swimming pool and look into the valley full of wines groves, fruit trees and stunning tall trees and it takes your breath away. There is even a secret garden full of fruit trees that you can pick your own lemons, plums and figs to eat.
Inside there is everything you need for a great family holiday including free wifi and air con to help keep you cool when you need it.
The villa and area is not suitable for people who want noise, louts and loud music it is a perfect get away from it all and we have never felt more relaxed in any holiday location before.
The area itself is unspoilt and very beautiful and was our first time in this part of Portugal and we will definitely be returning to this villa and area again.
There are pretty towns nearby to explore, lakes and fresh water swimming areas to enjoy and even a water park 20 mins away for the kids.
The silver coast is a 40 min drive away and well worth a trip to the unspoilt beaches and beach tavernas serving fresh fish.
All in all this was probably the best and most complete get away from it all villa holiday we have ever had !

Read this before you look at any other accommodation!
My wife and I have stayed in this region for years. ...we love the landscape. ..traditional features and beauty of this secret gem of Portugal.
We realised after we stayed at this villa that we have previously accepted sub standard accommodation in this region. ..passing places off as 'rustic' or 'traditional'.... this house is absolutely a one off....the owner doesn't need to rent it and so it is a little gem. Private pool...bbq... lemon ..grape vines...daily bread delivery... private nightly swimming!....the cleanest best accommodation in the region.
Absolutely beautiful views.. great area..little walk to Ruis bar!! ...already booked next August. Best value ..hidden gem.
