“Another Wonderful Break”

So glad we returned to the Forge, Christele, John and Jasper are as welcoming as ever and the cottage is comfortable and relaxing. Hemswell is a great base for exploring the area with Sheffield's Meadowhall Shopping Mall within easy reach. Uncle Henry's farmshop and cafe, just off the B1398 between Hemswell and Kirton in Lindsey, is highly recommended and the Chocolate Drop shop just outside Market Rasen at Willingham Hall on the A631 is a must. The Antiques Centre at Hemswell Cliff has an amazing array of items, displayed in 4 buildings with 2 cafe/coffee shops. Allow quite a while to get the most out of your time here, it's not somewhere that can be visited in just an hour.
We are looking forward to returning to the Forge next year to carry on with our exploration of Lincolnshire.

“Delightful Accommodation - Delightful Hosts”
Reviewed 7 November 2015 for a stay in October 2015

Old forge / barn , delightfully and tastefully renovated . Situated in the sleepy village of Hemswell within easy reach of the highlights of Lincolnshire.
No expense has been spared to ensure that your stay is extremely comfortable and hassle free. Fully equipped kitchen , WiFi , BBQ area etc etc.
John and Cristele Askew are the owners who are only too pleased to help with any special requests and are a font of knowledge regarding the local area.
Suitable for disabled guests as one of the bedrooms is on the ground floor, the owners even provided a bath seat for our disabled mother.

“Wonderful Cottage”
Reviewed 19 September 2015 for a stay in July 2015

Four of us stayed here for a week. A truly wonderful cottage that was well set up, quiet and peaceful. John and Christele made us very welcome and Christele was quite happy to show us around her studio to admire her pottery. The village is peaceful but the property is well located for touring around the district. We would thoroughly recommend this cottage.
