“Fantastic place to come home to after exploring brilliant mountain biking tracks.”
Reviewed 13 November 2011 for a stay in October 2011

Decided my son (age 14) needed something for half term other than playing on his computer. This cottage was perfect as the location offers so many differing mountain biking routes, and is so comfortable to return to at the end of a tiring and muddy day. The Japanese bath is great, and having the shower in a separate room meant we could both get clean at the same time. The washing machine and tumble drier was so useful as we managed to come home without a huge pile of laundry.

The Monmouthshire and Brecon canal just down the hill provided a perfect running route, as flat and even I can't get lost running on a tow path.

Crickhowell has good shops so easy to cook each evening with local produce (or resort to the Chinese take away if you have worn yourself out).

And from Josh's perspective....great as he had WiFi in his room so could still cram in a couple of hours on the internet!

As for Steve and Angie; lovely welcome and then you are left in wonderful peace and quiet unless you need anything.

All I had hoped for, and more.

“A wee gem in the midst of a magical landscape”
Reviewed 8 November 2011 for a stay in August 2011

We stayed (my husband and two friends) last August, where we had a magic week walking, sightseeing, attending a music festival and eat and drinking! The barn is beautifully decorated simply and stylishly, with all the mod coms you could require for a week of self catering. It is incredibly spacious, with plenty of outdoor space as well. Steve and Angie were incredibly accomodating, and the place was as clean as a whistle when we arrived! The views from Merryfields Barn are unbelievable, and a nice morning cuppa tea watching the sun rise was a particular favourite.
I would recommend having a car to get around, up the hill and back down to the village, but if you are a keen walker, nothing is too far away, and the canel walkway is only 5 minutes walk from the barn. We enjoyed ourselves so much we've already booked again for next August! I can fully recommend this place.
