Outstanding is the only way to sum up this beautiful cottage, which was light, homely and extremely well equipped. Helen & Brian were wonderful hosts who provided a thoughtful and much appreciated welcome pack. Their hospitality continued throughout our stay and surprised us with wonderful home made bread. An amazing find which we would certainly revisit when in the area.

“Fabulous place”

We had a delightful stay at Garden Cottage, very well facilitated, clean and modern and in a good location. Owners very friendly and gave some good insight into where to visit, nice pubs nearby too. We would definitely recommend a trip and will be returning ourselves.

This truly is a true Northumbrian gem ,which stands in the North Pennine area of outstanding beauty!
From the moment you step over the threshold, you get the' wow' factor: tasteful decor where the new ,complements the more traditional features.Everything is thoughtfully planned and makes for an immediate feel of 'Escapism'!
The owners have added generous, personal touches, which are rare these days!
A haven where you will surely return!

“A little gem”
Reviewed 6 May 2013 for a stay in April 2013

We had a lovely week in this cosy cottage which has been well renovated, is modern and warm and finished to a high standard. Brian and Helen were very helpful and the local pub, just yards away, was great. Its location is very good for the many walks in the North Pennines. The weather could have been better and so we have booked another week in June to try our luck again!
