We spent a week at the Railway Cottage and absolutely loved it. It was perfect for our needs - easy to find, just off the main road and well located for some brilliant days out in the area. The cottage was so well equipped, with all the utensils I needed in the kitchen to prepare all our meals to a decent selection of books, DVDs and games to occupy us in the evenings. As a self-catering accommodation I hadn't expected to find luxury toiletries, toilet rolls, tea, coffee and milk and washing up liquid and cleaning cloths included - the owners really did think of every last detail. The décor throughout was lovely, very inkeeping with the theme and era of the original railway station. On arrival we arranged for a supermarket delivery of our weeks food which was helpful as there wasn't really a supermarket nearby just a small village shop over the road. The cottage is located in the centre of a small caravan park but there was no noise from any of our neighbours or from the road. It was very peaceful -all we could ever hear was sheep! There were some nice short walks nearby, the Break-its-Neck waterfall being our favourite. The view from the mound in the village was also very nice.
I couldn't fault anything about the cottage, it really was a very peaceful and relaxing place to stay and a great base to visit some very beautiful parts of Wales. It was really good value for money. I had a wonderful holiday and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others and would definitely stay again if I was in the area.
This cottage is a real little gem, warm and cosy, spotlessly clean, very well equipped and excellent value for money. Located within Old Station Caravan Park, the owners Libby and John have done an incredible restoration on this turn of the century railway ticket office. Much to our surprise, everything is supplied - and I do mean everything - right down to toilet rolls - very handy if, like us, you're motorcyclists and space is tight. I did an online shop a few days before our arrival date for delivery to the cottage. Libby helpfully supplied useful information and even offered to put our shopping away if it arrived before we did. We stayed for eight glorious nights and really didn't want to leave. There is so much to see and do, breathtaking scenery and don't get me started on the roads - a biker's paradise!! Just one word of caution - the small road leading to the caravan park and the site itself has loose gravel, but it isn't deep just a scattering on the surface. It's something car drivers with their four wheels under them barely register, but bikers have to be a bit more aware when they have only two. Regrettably, we didn't get to check out the delights of the Tea Room until the day before we left. Good food, well cooked and presented and very reasonably priced. Need I say more? Oh, and Libby makes a mean Cappuccino by the way. Overall, so impressed we've booked for two weeks next year in one of their static caravans (which, incidentally, Libby and John have held for us at this year's price). We'll be back!
We had a wonderful time at this beautifully converted ticket office......everything we needed...and my party included an 88 year old and 7 month old! Cosy and nicely fitted out...great shower,.
It is in a beautiful part of the country......would like to vist again.
We stayed here over the half-term holiday and really enjoyed ourselves. The cottage was lovely, with everything you would want provided. The owners were really friendly and helpful too, making us feel at home. It's a lovely location, with great views and lots to do in the surrounding areas. We'll definitely be coming back again!
Fantastic location... Giving time for relaxing in beautiful surroundings. A well kitted out cottage with nostalgic memorabilia but in modern deco.... Owners extremely friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay and would certainly recommend.... And value for money ;)
