“Perfect cottage with great views”

We stayed here for 7 nights in late Dec/early January. We were two families with three children ranging in age from 5 months to 8 years old. This house suited us perfectly, there were two spacious living rooms, one housed a wii and tv the other had fantastic views over the bay, a log burner and large TV. The kitchen/diner was great and worked really well. It was well stocked with everything you could need and even had two fridges (great for booze and food), microwave, washing machine and dishwasher.
The upstairs provided us with two double rooms (both with fantastic views over the bay), twin room and a room with bunkbeds, a family bathroom with bath and shower over the bath and an en-suite to one of the double rooms.

Everything about the house was good, the beds were comfortable, shower pressure perfect, dryers over the radiators, plently of hooks for your coats and two shoe racks, all added up to a well thought out house.
The only downside was it was quite a steep walk from where you parked your car to the front door but you very soon get used to it. There is no parking allocated to the house so you park on the road at the end of the shared drive. This is not a problem as there was always enough room to park.
There is a lovely 15 minute walk to Porthmadog, to the pubs and shops. Tesco's deliver to the house.
Overall a great holiday home.

“Perfect holiday home”
Reviewed 8 October 2012 for a stay in October 2012

We spent 5 nights at Bryn Gwyn. The owners have thought of everything. There were 5 of us including 1 toddler and 1 baby. This house was perfect for us. The owner/property manager was a pleasure to deal with. She made sure we had 2 high chairs, a cot and stair gate set up upon our arrival. The house was immaculately clean. We have rented many holiday homes in the past and this was the first to include essentials such as hand soap at all sinks, rubbish bags, salt & pepper, tea & coffee and our first pint of milk. This attention to detail sets this place above the rest. Additionally, the views from the house are breathtaking! A perfect location! We can not wait to return.

“Idyllic views and location”
Reviewed 10 July 2012 for a stay in July 2012

Close enough to the amenities of Portmadog but far enough to be a remote tranquil village location.

If you want a quiet cove/beach to enjoy then there are plenty a few minutes walk down the coastal path.

The views from the guest house are second to none. Views over the bay and the welsh mountains beyond.

A great place to stay if you want to relax by the beach, go fishing or just enjoy the setting.

Borth y Gest does not have a through road, so comparatively quiet to other coastal villages and towns.

A well equipped and presented house - you couldn't ask for much more.

Would recommend!

“Quality & Style”
Reviewed 24 June 2012 for a stay in June 2012

This place certainly has the WOW factor. I booked Bryn Gwyn for my Mum's 89th birthday & travelled with my husband & brother. We knew that the steps up to the cottage would be steep but my Mum managed ok with a few stops on the way, but it was certainly well worth the effort. The house is immaculate & the views excellent. The house has been renovated with a great deal of style. In addition the fixtures & fittings are of high quality & there were plenty of wine glasses(!) & crockery - the first time we ever found sufficient to make best use of the dishwasher - 16 of everything plus around 32 mugs (no we didn't count them all!!) The bedrooms are of a good size & the two living rooms satisfy the needs of different groups. The kitchen is so well equipped & obviously fitted out with convivial nights in mind & gatherings in the kitchen - with two fridges to hold all the essentials!! I cannot recommed this holiday highly enough.Easy walking to Porthmadog for pubs, shops etc & lots of walks from the front or back door. You must visit!!
