Our third weekend this year at Maweni (which speaks for itself).
I’m writing this on our last morning, see pic for the view from the bed in the main bedroom...glorious!
Comfortable, well-presented house, with well-positioned raised deck outside for great views over the bay. Ideally suited for beach walks, and as a base for visiting this beautiful part of North Wales...one drawback, Cob Records In Porthmadog is only 20 minutes walk away, which means I’ve spent ridiculous amounts on vinyl and CDs this visit!
Borth y gest lovely location, lovely views from melwani
Very comfortable accommodation, modern kitchen
Used Maweni Cottage as a base whilst touring Northern Wales.
The house is clean and well kept. There is free parking on-street and we never had any problem getting a space.
The staircase is narrow and has a tight turn at the top - would not suit anyone who is a bit unsteady, but fine for everyone else.
The house has a good level of equipment including dish washer and washing machine, and a high number of crockery and utensil place settings.
Visited during the summer so cannot comment on heating, but there are two very good power showers which run off the boiler.
The WiFi is good and the tv has freeview and a DVD player.
The view from the master bedroom is superb, looking East over the bay. There are double patio doors leading to a small metal balcony. The room was lovely and cool at night.
At the foot of the garden is a raised decking area with a wooden picnic seat/table. The view from there over the bay it also great.
An ideal place to stay if visiting Snowdonia for a short break or much more. On the outskirts of Porthmadog, the area is very peaceful with some great walks along the coast.
The three bedrooms are fine, the downstairs accommodation works well with a large kitchen and lounge/diner. One bedroom has an ensuite which is a tad quirky in its layout, with the shower not enclosed. Not a major issue though.
This is a great cottage for a couple or a family to enjoy the beautiful beaches and towns of this part of North Wales. The cottage is positioned on the hillside above the harbour and has fantastic views from the decking in the rear garden, and the master bedroom.
The cottage was nice and clean, and the kitchen was well equipped.
The on-street parking was never a problem, even over the busy bank-holiday weekend.
The rear garden was very nice, and the picnic bench on the decking was great for eating outside with the nice weather we had.
The beach was an easy walk from the cottage along the coastal path.
There are no shops in Borth-y-Gest, but there are supermarkets in Porthmadog which is about 5 mins in the car, alternatively there is a nice walk to Porthmadog along the coastal path past the boatyard.
I would recommend this cottage to anyone.
