The villa is in a great location in the sleepy village of Faugeres, and is ideal for travelling out to places like the beach, canal de midi and the gorge d'heric.
The village although quiet is lovely for a stroll and a visit to Dame Jane's and the local wine shop is a must.
The villa itself is very well appointed and it offers a real home from home feel. the pool was a real bonus on the very hot days and there is plenty of room on the patio with ample seating and sun loungers, all with the amazing views of the vine yards, The bedrooms were lovely and cool due to the air-con in them. Both bathrooms were well appointed.
The wifi and satelite tv were a welcome facility especially as the world cup started whilst there. we were also able to get english radio via the tv.
We also found the abundance of maps in the villa a huge help when planning days out.
Pat and Chris could not have done more to help us with our stay and were an absolute god send when we had our flights cancelled both on our journey out and home.
I have no problem in recommending this property and we will be returning.
We had a fantastic 2 week holiday at Mas d’Olivier in July this year.
The villa was well laid out and very comfortable for a family of 4. Our kids of 9 & 7 loved the pool and sitting outside for breakfast. The British TV was great for the kids and made watching the Tour de France really enjoyable when the temperature outside got too hot! - it was regularly 30-35c apart from a couple of days of cloud. Even so, we made the most of the lull in sunshine to visit Montpellier and the villages along the coast.
The villa itself has a great patio area overlooking the pool and then onto vineyards looking south. The bbq was handy, but we did most of our cooking from the kitchen which was well appointed and had lots of bits and bobs that we topped up as we went. The pool was really great for the kids and we spent a lot of time using it - our son perfected his tumble turns and our daughter her diving. It was great wakening up and having breakfast looking out on to the views.
The villa is really well located for touring around the local area, the owners (Pat and Chris) sent some great advice on places to visit during our stay with st guilhem le-desert a stand out. Carcassonne was only about 90 mins drive and worth a visit to say you’ve been. The owners were also very good with communication and had friends come and help us settle in by showing us around the villa and telling us about local supermarkets etc.
There isn’t much to do in faugères itself, but it is lovely and peaceful. Our favourite local town was Pezenas, a lovely old town with a historic town centre and lots of shops and restaurants. Well worth a visit and only about 19km away.
Of course the local wine was great too and we enjoyed more than one bottle of the Mas d’Olivier Rosé.
We would definitely recommend this villa for a perfect family friendly holiday, but you definitely need a car.
