I was very happy at first when i found La Pari Pari online, through the marvelous reviews i read online, i was sure i found a gem... we were really disappointed after our 3 nights stay.

1) Friendly staff and owner
2) Relatively Clean room
3) Cozy environment as is located outside of Cenang beach.

1) No cable TV, you have to PAY through apps if you wish to watch a movie
2) Not much facilities except for a pool
3) Everything is chargeable, they tell you they are conserving environment hence they don't serve water in a bottle but you will be CHARGED at a second refill. What an excuse!
4) CHEAP breakfast with 2 slices of toasts and some fruits. You will need to fork out your own money if you wish something else on their a la carte menu.
5) The room is looking OK but a lot more impressive online, a bit deceiving.
6) Bathroom tiles need to be changed, it's way too slippery when is wet, my 2 kids fell on the floor while showering.

While the overall stay was okay, we wouldn't recommend it. We felt the place is so commercialised and ultimate aim is to maximise on their guests wallet than making sure they have a pleasant stay.

Dear Fion
Thank you for your comments.

Am sorry you did not enjoy your stay, although I am glad you found our service levels friendly and the rooms cozy.

Regarding some of your comments, please allow me to qualify some of them for the clarity of our future guests:

1. The complimentary litre of filtered water we provide daily is part of our efforts to reduce plastic waste in Langkawi. The option to refill it does come with a small RM3 cost to cover the expenses of maintaining our in-house water filter, and encourage guests not to purchase water in disposable plastic bottles. The price we charge is comparable to what one would pay for the same amount of bottled water in a store in Langkawi, without the need for creating additional waste.

2. The complimentary breakfast comes with the option of converting your breakfast vouchers to a discount on our restaurant's a la carte menu - something that most hotels here do not provide, limiting their guests to mass-produced buffets. We like to think that our guests prefer having choices, which is what we try to give them. We also take pains to source our food from select suppliers, eg organic local-grown fruit as opposed to imports, artisanal sausages as opposed to cheap, mass-produced ones, etc. So while you may perceive our approach as not being too generous, I can assure you that our policies were shaped by the belief that we would only provide our guests with the best available resources - and if that sometimes means things may cost more both to us and our guests we have faith that most of our patrons appreciate the balance we try to strike between giving customers what they want versus maintaining our own strict standards of what we feel our guests deserve.

3. Our rooms do not have cable TV, and we never advertise ourselves as providing that service. The Roomie app allows you to watch pay-per-view TV and is provided by an external resource from whom we do NOT derive any revenue share whatsoever. In fact, I believe during your stay they even had selected movies for FREE.

It is regretful that you have misperceived our intentions as an accommodation provider that just aims to "maximise on their guests' wallet". I hope the above will give you and our prospective customers a clearer picture of how and why we do business. Our aim is to always strive for a healthy balance between providing guests with a clean, cozy and safe place to stay, and also ensuring that we make fair profits to enable us to keep the business sustainable and provide fair wages to our employees. While we could provide more extensive "freebies", they would mean a substantial increase in our room rates - something which goes against our ethos of giving customers a mid-range option that does not compromise on service standards, cleanliness, safety and style.

Nice hidden gem.
Do we didn't actually stay here, we came for dinner. The food delicious. They allowed us to see one of the vacant rooms...pure luxioury with a little private garden. The pool and area around it looks like paradise, the staff very helpfull and friendly. Next time i will stay here.

It's very charming and cosy with only 12 rooms. A good place to just wind down and relax, pick a book or spend time chatting with your friends and family.

The facilities are not 5 star, but the hospitality and friendliness of the owners - Karina and Jacky makes you feel welcomed.

Their in house restaurant, the fatCUPID serves good breakfast and meals too, which is a bonus.

We decided to choose this place after recommendations from a friend. We are very impressed.

Strong points:
1. Karina and the staff were very friendly and helpful
2. Privacy
3. Excellent food
4. Clean room with enough toiletries and fully-working amenities

Weak points:
1. Info of the hotel in the Roomie app wasn't updated
2. Wish they had bath tubs
3. Swimming pool closes too early
4. Road/parking conditions could be better

Will definitely return to this place, as my better half loves it (even after suggesting different hotels just to try them out). That "fat cupid" must have shot an arrow and struck her. Maybe we could get some discounts this time around. :)

La Pari-Pari was the best I could find: looked good in pictures and was relatively reasonable priced in expensive Langkawi Island. But sorry to say, I was a bit disappointed.

I liked:
* The quiet courtyard with loungers and big trees - lots of places to lay down and chill out
* Pool was nice: water wasn't cold
* The location was quite nice. You do need a flash light to get back to hotel after sunset and it is not on the beach but restaurants are nicer in this area than on the main street
* Room was clean, good sized and matress was fine
* Staff and the owner were friendly
* They provide you with a beach mat and towel, so you don't have to bring your own
* There are lots of mosquites in the area, but luckily none in the room, just a home gecko :D

I didn't like:
* The cheap feel of the furnishing: ecological can be stylish too. The rooms look nice in pictures but very cheap in reality.
* Green values were used in branding the place but not quite delivered through the concept. I felt they used them as excuse for some cheap decisions. If you want to be ecological you don't provide miniature shampoos and you provide complimentary water tank where you can refill your bottle without having to buy new bottles all the time. These just to give a few example.
* All the rules and price lists on the welcome booklet - it made me feel uncomfortable and unsafe: what kind of people they are use to have as their guests when they feel the need for all the rules?
* fatCupid restaurant was a big dissapointment: I was so looking forward to eat there but I wasn't happy with the quality and service so I choosed to eat in neighbouring restaurants
* Shower had hot water but for less than ten minutes
* They give you the code for safety deposit box so it kind takes the last illusion of personal safe
* The outdoor furnishings especially needs more care and cleaning

There is staff at hotel from 8 - 22, and earliest time for breakfast is at 9 which is too late if you want to take a day tour.

I can't recommend this hotel from my heart but I don't ask you avoid it either. Mixed feelings.
