I have been visiting The Eating House, for over twenty years. This place has never let us down, joined onto the Derbyshire Craft Center, it is a gem within its own right. It co-exists with the craft center; which is joined on, via a small corridor esque, passage.
I today chose the Quiche with Feta and Spinach and olives, yes an unusual combination, but one that worked, it came on a plate, beautifully presented, with a lovely salad and and jacket potato. All in all fantastic, my father had the jeweled quinoa salad, with goats cheese and butternut squash, which he loved. We also had a cup of tea as well (refills included), and for pudding the most delightful orange cake, again beautifully presented.
What makes this place, The Eating House in Calver, so good, is the friendly staff, fantastic and unique menu, which is always changing and the quality of the food, which is homemade and very tasty. Please, Eating House, open up in Langley Mill, or within the Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire border.
All in all a true gem, of a place for lunch, and yes a slice of magic, the cakes are fantastic and the food is as well. It is also popular with walkers, and with the craft center next door, you could loose yourself for hours on end. Another superb lunch that we had at the Eating House, and yes we shall be back.
