A bit of a walk up the hill, but offers stunning views of the Shoal Bay area - the best viewing point comes a few hundred metres below the summit that looks out to Shark Island and Fingal Bay on one side and the Shoal Bay area on the other side

This walk to the lookout is not as easy as most people say. It is well maintained but very steep. The sign at the start says it is a 1km walk to the top. After walking a couple hundred meters we came to a information marker (you are here) Going by the map we still had 700 meters to go and the track got steeper. We decided to turn around and head back. We are both 60 and last year we did climb Fox Glacier in NZ but this time we both were sick with the flu.
It's a relatively strenuous climb in parts but doable for most ages, the birdlife and views are stunning. We walked along the coastal path from the marine rescue building, up the hill and back in about 4 hours.
amazing views from the top of this hill. Easy walk up for all ages. Our group was aged 7 up. It's so worth the walk!
If you are in the area it is worth stopping here and having a walk to on this head. The view is quite amazing and gives you a good perspective of where everything is
Incredible views from the top of Mt Tomaree for those who are willing to expend some energy. The climb to the top is steep, but well worth the effort. Highly recommended.
