Went here on several evenings during a holiday to Shoal Bay. Great hotel recently renovated. The upstairs restaurant and deck area is beautiful and a great place to enjoy a drink as the sun is setting. Spectacular views. The courtyard downstairs was also good for listening to live music however following the renovation they made this whole area (it is quite large) a smoking area which means you often had patrons blowing smoke T you and your kids. Cigarette smoke is all you can smell in this area and I don’t understand why management decided to make such a large central space a smoking area. Big disappointment. Had several meals from the restaurant and unfortunately wasn’t impressed by any of them. Probably the worst was the garlic pizza bread which had the most ridiculous amount of garlic and salt on it- we couldn’t eat it. Antipasto plate was disappointing. Oysters were too small. Try the passion fruit mojito it is delicious. Would go there again for the location but wouldn’t eat there. And management need to do something about that smoking area.
