The moment you arrive and meet the Mick and his parents, you know that you'll have a wonderful stay in this place. I only have good things to say about it. The location is perfect for us, because we love the privacy it offers. It is off the main road in General Luna, but close to the could 9 area. We rented a scooter and explored General Luna and the rest of the Island during the day and come home to this place. We always look forward to dip in the private pool of the Executive Villa after a warm busy day! There is also a lovely warm pool outside if the water is too cold in the dipping pool. There is a decent waterfront with a lovely sunset view, where you can kayak and paddleboard for free. Goggles, surfboards are free as well. There is no restaurant but the kitchen has complete amenities, which includes snacks, noodles, coffee, tea and drinking water. There are reataurants nearby as well, so this is really not an issue for us. The bathroom has everything you need! Very well thought of. Mick will go out of his way to make sure you have a lovely stay in his place as well the Siargao. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I truly love this place. On our second time in Siargao we wanted to stay again, but it was fully booked. I definitely recommend Sunset Bay Villas.

This place is fantastic, great location only 5 minutes away from cloud9 by motorbike and in a very quiet area.
My villa was great with all amenities, very comfy and traditionnal.
Finally Mick was a great host and looked after all my needs.

Will definitely go back, thank you again Mick and family for the great stay!

When we stayed here, we felt like we had a more local stay compared to other places we stayed at. Quiet, secluded, and very private. We enjoyed our stay very much.

The rooms had coffee, biscuits, instant noodles, and cup noodles. More than enough to get you by if you suddenly get hungry.

The nearby places you can walk but take a trike. As first timers it was easy to sort out transportation and you can also rent a scooter. The owner mick was a really nice guy and even dropped us off when we found out we were on his way. Yes, it may be a distance to places but it is sooo easy to get transportation.

Then place is simple, but is comfortable. Aircon on ground floor room and electric fan on the mezzanine floor. Our guests at the mezzanine slept fine.

Internet - they give you a pod that you can take around an it is fine. Internet is slow on most of the Island and not just in this resort. You’re on an island. Put your phone down and Enjoy!

There was a sauna that they heated up
For us in 20 mins and was great.

It is a VILLA. You don’t expect them to clean it up like a normal hotel room. If you want to though, I am sure you can arrange this with the great Owners if you want to.

The couches were fine by our standards. If you want more, go look for a five star hotel.
This is simple but the cool owner, peace and serenity make up for any if at all shortcomings the place has.

It’s so easy and cheap to get around in siargao - no reason to complain about the location.

Again if you need housekeeping, food,
Etc, just ask and I am sure Mick would sort you out!!!

Don’t be discouraged with the other review. It’s SIMPLE but we felt at home while we were there.

Also: free use of paddle boards, bikes, and other things to while you are there.

Cheers! Would stay there
Again.

Three of us stayed in the Premier Villa. It is quite a long way from the General Luna area but only 10-15 minutes walk from the Cloud Nine area. In one way the distance is a disadvantage but it is more than made up for by being very peaceful and I slept really well here after coming from Manila. The Manager, Mick, is a fellow Aussie and very helpful. He booked us on the shuttlebus from and to the airport and loaned us a plug adaptor and umbrella as well as providing lots of useful advice.

Pros:
quiet, this place is inside a residential compound (not main road).
There are bikes, motorbike, snorkel and paddle boats free to use.

Cons:
1. Location: located about 1.2 km to the nearest restaurant, ok to walk during day time but the road has no street light so a motorbike is a must at night. Cloud 9, in the map crossing the body of water is near but in reality, you need to take the main road to go there, which is a bit far for walking, maybe 3 km.

No vendo or any small store nearby so if you arrive hungry, you will need to drive/walk around 2-3km for quick food like biscuits/candies. Not convenient for tourist or first timers.

2. Stayed a few days and no one cleaned the inside of the villa. It’s like renting a small house and you do all the work, no housekeeping.

3. The sofa is really uncomfortable. To the point that we stayed in restaurants to hang out because the seating inside the villa was really uncomfortably hard.

4. The WiFi signal to the villa is not strong. You need to go near the main house to get a good signal. Even local data line doesn’t work well.

I guess for the price, I was expecting comfort like good location, availability of food and housekeeping.
