“Magical Place to stay”

What a wonderful cottage in the most wonderful part of the country. truly magical.
Was more than sufficient accommodation for our tribe of 5 older teens and 3 adults.

The bed linen was crisp and clean (and I'm fussy!) and the 3 bathrooms were a god send!

We used the owner pub - the Swinside inn for a few drinks, maps and one evening meal - all lovely.

We just wished we'd be able to stay longer!

There are books and games supplied but I would bring additional board games/cards etc - there is no wifi but it was a lovely break (one moan from the kids when we first arrived and then they just enjoyed old fashioned style entertainment!)

Honister mine and via ferrata a must! try it its 20 mins away by car

Also we climbing Scafell Pike from Seathwaite - again 20 mins ish away for parking at the bottom on the farm just outside. Also Windermere lake - well all the lakes - just magical!

“Great location”

The house is in a great location. Unfortunately our stay was spoiled by the owner who decided to keep a portion of our deposit for extra cleaning costs. End of stay cleaning is included in the rental but be wary that the owner will make a charge if they think its not to their liking although there are no instructions or guidelines for guests. The house was not left in a mess. I could make a considerable list of things that were not right about the facilities in the house but will not.
Hopefully you will enjoy your stay there but be mindful of your deposit !

Thank you for the great review that you left on another site prior to being notified by staff that there would have to be a deduction made from your damage deposit. The owner wasn't involved in the decision. Hopefully, this is the one and only time that this action will be taken.

“Fantastic for large party, especially 3 generations”

This house works very well as the bedrooms are spacious, and have good firm comfortable beds., and there are 3 bathrooms ( all upstairs). The extra mattresses helped as children shifted around a bit.
The 3 reception rooms are wonderfully spacious so no one is falling over each other when trying to organise meals, games, quiet zones. The kitchen must be over 20 ft long and I found the pantry particularly useful as all the food brought up for the weekend could be easily stored out of the way; on units, in the 2 fridges or in the ample cupboards. The Aga could have been hotter, and I couldn't get the grill on the electric cooker to work but having 2 cookers was again a huge help.
And it is all set in such a lovely spot, activities happened from the front door, we hardly used the cars at all. Having ample parking provided was super.
Cat Bells is obviously a must, walks over to the tea shops and river in Grange were delightful, and we climbed Causey Pike, fabulous and quite doable, for young and old alike. There is also a bar at Little Town, a gentle 30 minute walk up the valley.

Fantastic house, very spacious but is still warm and cosy, great for sharing with friends, family and dogs. Great location, fantastic views, plenty of walks and local activities for all ages.
The town of Keswick is 5 miles drive and has everything that you need.
Wi-fi is good, and access to DVD’s, books and games for the winter nights by the fire.
Plenty of fridge, freezer and storage space.
Had a great week with friends and would recommend it to anyone.

“perfect cottage hidden amongst the catbells”

This house was amazing with everything you need for a large group of friends or family holiday. The gardens are beautiful with secret little steps leading up through the garden to your own little wooded area and small rope swing. It then opens up to the beautiful surrounding views of the catbells which is a great walk from your doorstep. Everything you need is there for you including a welcome pack and it is lovely and clean. Bedrooms are all lovely and the view from the bathroom is the best. Only little thing to improve would to have some outdoor furniture as it was a lovely sunny weekend so we just sat on the grass. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Lovely old pub also just a 15 min walk and does great food. The Newlands activity centre was great fun and also tried out the water sports at nearby marina. Will definitely return. Thanks for an unforgettable holiday.
