Glossa. Lovely, friendly village. Restaurants, small supermarkets, lovely, practical gift shops, chemist, in fact everything you need to survive!
We ate at 3 restaurants, Plateia, Agnati and the open cafe Plaza to Louki. All catered for what we wanted, fun, posh and cheap! in that order!
The walks were hard going at times, hot and hilly, but well worth it. If you walk to Agios Ioannis, start early. We left at 6.40 and got there at 8.15 ish. First ones there, except the olive oil man cooling his feet in the sea. Hard walk back!
Absolutely beautiful !
And Jo and Roger are the perfect hosts. Go there now!!!
Booked this as part of our honeymoon as love Mama Mia and wanted to see the church! Roger and Jo were very helpful and friendly and we were encouraged to knock on their door if we needed anything. Ella provided excellant communication via e-mail with any queries I had.The little store was very quaint, quirky and had everything we needed including 3 seperate patio areas, 2 overlooking the sea with stunning views. We were provided with advice about local beaches etc and we used a lovely taxi man to get us round. Unfortunately the local bus had limited times during the morning and we did not have stamina to walk far in 35 degree heat!. A car or motorbike would be beneficial to fully explore the stunning island. Glossa was very quiet, Greek and unspoilt with views to die for and friendly locals and places to eat. We absolutely loved our time here and would highly recommend this little gem. We hope to return in the future.
Thankyou! Roger, Jo and Ella for helping make our honeymoon so special.

The Old Wine Store is exactly as described. Rustic, and charming. Not for someone who wants luxury! And you need strong legs to navigate the local steps and streets! I'd advise hiring a car, if you have the nerves for the tiny windy roads. If not, the local bus (large, air-conditioned coach) takes you to all the main beaches, but having your own transport provides flexibility and the ability to get off the beaten track. All in all, a wonderful hideaway for those who want peace and quiet - and the most amazing views in Greece!
