I stayed here over the Easter break this year. I checked in on the Thursday night and checked out on the Easter Monday.
I was here as a party of 4 adults and 2 children.
My first impression was that the penthouse itself was hard to find (and I'm happy to stand corrected by the property owners), but we arrived at the right address yet didn't realise it was the right place because the entry to the resort was branded as a Mantra Property which makes it super confusing. There is free parking which is fantastic but again with the confusion of whether it's the right place or not it makes it frustration. After mucking about for sometime, we finally made it to Penthouse 707.
Without a doubt the penthouse has uninterrupted water views which are beautiful, there are floor to ceiling glass walls which are give you plenty of light and sunshine. There is also a huge terrace which we didn't use much but was beautiful to sit there and watch the world go by. Located right in front of the beach makes it easy to get to the sand and water. Very close to cafes and restaurants too.
The penthouse itself is quite spacious and plenty of privacy even if we had more people stay with us as it had 4 bedrooms. Bathrooms are quite large, everything is clean and nice. We found that with 4 of us plus 2 kids there was just enough space to watch Tv in the main lounge. The penthouse sleeps up to 10 but I'd find it hard to fit everyone to watch a movie at once or be in the same area at once. There's another smaller lounge room which yes we could move all the furniture around but not something you particularly want to do. The penthouse does come with full kitchen and fridge, stocked with the basics of tea , coffee and plenty of plates, cutlery etc which is super handy. Toiletries are provided which was good, as were bath towels but not pool towels so lucky we had some spare bath towels.
We enjoyed the beautiful resort pool and spa which was fantastic.
I think we were let down a little on the amenities front. Firstly we were somewhat lucky that it wasn't middle of summer because we found the air conditioner in the main living area not working correctly. At least one of the bedroom air conditioner worked, we did t try the rest. We also found the resident Playstation 3 didn't work either, we wanted to watch a DVD and realised there was something wrong with it and couldn't play anything. The TV in the main bedroom has a red line through the screen which makes it annoying to watch TV on. Perhaps small things but made a difference for us. I'm also happy to stand corrected by the owners.
Overall it could have been a great experience and were let down a bit and specially for the price point we paid - $3k for 4 nights. But it ended up being an average stay accomodation wise.
