I have eaten several times at Salika Inn. Both at family events and public events like weddings and office get to- gathers. Access is easy as it boundered by the road. But no parking facilities . You have to park by the road side. There are few halls which accommodate big numbers. Food is OK I used to buy take aways as well from the outlet. If you go to the restaurant you better go little early. They take a long time to serve

The restaurant is in the A1 Colombo -Kandy road, at Kegalle. They also have accommodations. The eating area is small and sometimes may be crowded. One day we observed that they allowed people to smoke in the common eating area which was later corrected.

We loved a starter dish, Prawn cocktail very much. It was just delicious! But, when we ordered a mixed grill platter, we only received an oven baked mixture of meats covered with some sauces and some, deepfried fish, not actually grilled. And sometimes it was overprized too, charging 750 SLR for a dish, called as Baked fish, which just had a single piece of fish.

The waiting time is also too much, at times.

Average and have much more to go!

We were traveling through Kegalle and wanted a single night stay. We were given a choice of two AC old fashioned grubby rooms. The better of the two turned out to be awful. Later we found out it had an old dirty thin foam mattress with a new-ish thin grubby mattress on top. The slats holding up the old disintegrating mattress creaked and cracked when sat on. The bed sheets had been on the bed for days (weeks?)and were dusty and smelled. The furniture was dusty, old, grubby from years of greasy handling and mismatched. We had to turn off the the ceiling fan when it started to wobble and emit a screeching sound - we thought it would fall off. The curtain covered a filthy window that could not have been cleaned for months. The en suite bathroom was grubby and the ventilation window filthy. The light over the uncleaned smeared mirror did not work. We were handed a complimentary toilet roll ans cheap mini soap on entry to the room.
We were charged $33USD + numerous taxes (27.5%) for this room ie $42USD!
