We asked at a Pub in Lindau's historic center, where is a nice Italian restaurant. We were told, The Mill (Il Mulino). It has a pleasant interior with white tablecloths on all the tables.
The room was well-lit, and did not have any lighting and masses of candles, but with the right person, it would BE romantic. There were a few tables outside and they all had customers.
In Germany you have your table for the evening, so we took our time and checked the menu carefully. My daughter ordered Penne with Broccoli and Garlic, and I ordered Pasta with Salmon with a Cream Sauce. Glancing around the dining room, I noticed the portions were large. The alads on other tables looked good. Cheap prices for VERY tasty, large portions.
The next night, we heard 2 couples at different tables, ordering their dinner in Italian. By the end of their leisurely meals, they had met and shared conversation and coffee. We ordered Spaghetti Pesto and pizza with tomato, cheese and arugala. I've lived near Stuttgart for 18 years, and this is one of a few restaurants that serves pasta "al dente."
