Spend an extended weekend here, with walks on the beach, swimming & extensive use of the spa - highly recommended..!
Staff is very service minded, we got a great room with a nice view, great breakfast although a bit crowded, good location with restaurants just around the corner

We enjoyed a very relaxing short break whilst on a driving tour. The hotel is very comfortable and exceptionally clean. The staff were charming and friendly and its in a great location with parking on site. Our room was superb with a small balcony and view of the sea through the trees. The breakfast is magnificent! Highly recommended and we will be back next year.

This Hotel which we have been to before is wonderful. The service is excellent. The room first class, with a big comfortable bed, Unique wardrobe system Fantastic shower and bathroom. And to top it all the view from our balcony with a cup of coffee was fantastic. On a sunny Day, with the yachts on the sea one can feel nothing but relaxed. After a day on the beach and a nice meal it was great to return to the hotel and be attended to by Kai Lange who makes fantastic cocktails and always seemed pleased to see us and make us welcome. To watch him prepare the many cocktails on offer was an entertainment in itself. In the morning we would enjoy an ample pre-ordered breakfast on the balcony , and enjoy the view and plan our day. We love Kuhlungsborn with the long strand to watch the sunset over the ocean, the many lovely restaurants, all combine to ensure we will return.

Room tip: Write to the hotel, they were very helpful

The location is wonderful - in the middle of the promenade, within the walking distance to the major shopping street and backeries.

The hotel and rooms are beautifully designed. The lobby is very good - and it has a lobby, you can sit, relax, have a drink, there was live music.

The breakfast is very good. Good choice of teas from Ronnefeldt.

One thing to mention though - as to the sea side rooms, you have to rememeber that there is a tree line between the sea and the hotel. So if you get lower floors, say first, second floor - you will see (mostly) trees.

Some drawbacks:
1. The quality of pizza can and should be improved.
As it was explained to me - there is some sort of a computerised system, which cannot go wrong. Well, for us it did go wrong. Twice. Furthermore, it is not obvious to waiters or kitchen staff that people should not pay for food that is not good. The issue was resolved at the F&B manager level, but I would prefer and actually expect from a fancy hotel not to go through that.
Everyone who has children knows how it looks and feels with a small kid and two bad pizzas to wait for.

2. There are no tea amenities in the room. For me there is no way around that - I think there should be one. You can call reception/room service and ask for hot water, etc.. - but it is not the same as having it in the room.

3. The gym / fitness studio is not up to a level. Those who lift cannot pull through even a modest workout. The question whether you need that on a relaxation trip.

The service was good and the staff was pleasant and helpful, except for the kitchen guy with his computerised system for pizza which cannot go wrong.

Overall, I would recommend this hotel, it provides good relaxing experience as long as you are OK with tea and the pizza thingy. From what we saw it is the only hotel with decent lobby experience that is on the promenade, where all major things are within the walking distance.

When we decide to go to Baltic shore again, we will most likely stay at this hotel again (even if it means bringing our own tea kettle with).

We are a couple with a small child, traveled July 2016.

We spent 4 nights in half-board and we have been positively surprised, especially given the size (large) and nature (lot of families) of the Hotel.

Positives:
- Relaxed atmosphere, not many children crying and running all round. Both at dinner (it's a two-shifts affair, and we always went for the 20:00 slot) and surprisingly also at breakfast
- Excellent breakfast and good half-board dinners. One evening we went for the à-la-carte Restaurant, definitely worth the price premium - both for the food and for the service
- Functional and nice room, nicely decorated and excellent bed. Super sleep quality, including the quality of the pillows, curtains that really stop the morning light and excellent noise insulation (we had a room with sea view, which also means facing the road)
- The indoor swimming pool is quite narrow and approx. 15 m long, but we really liked the atmosphere

Negatives
- Service a bit erratic, especially at dinners (too many people serving, often seemed uncoordinated). Overall friendly staff, but often slow in following up (e.g. pick up of laundry)
- Bar area spread over the lobby area, not really a place where you would go to enjoy the evening and relax (no outside view)
- The two-shifts dinner timing (18:00 or 20:00) reduces flexibility (although it worked quite well in our case)
- Impossible to book even simple body treatments (like a feet nails paint repair) on a short notice

All in all a very good experience, but not really a "wow" experience.
