Firstly, may I say that there are some good things about this hotel. The view of the airport and Zeppelins is entertaining, the breakfast was good and the lady who made us a waffle after we failed miserably with the machine was kindness personified.
However, we had ordered some food on our first night and my son had collected it and paid for it in cash. When we came to check out, it was claimed there was no record of payment. Again, I understand that these issues occur sometimes, and the lady on reception asked for a credit card and a phone number. Then, to my horror, she started to write the credit card number down on a piece of paper. I stopped her and explained that this was not a secure thing to do, and that if she wanted she could charge me a second time and then refund the money when they had found the original payment.
I'm surprised that an international chain would not adequately instruct their staff about credit card security, and as such I would be reluctant to use them again. Shame, because there are many other things to recommend the place.More
