Recently we visited Tarnowskie Gory again, and again we stayed at the Allan Hotel. As returning guests we noticed small improvements every time we visit. This time around new windows were installed which provide better sound proofing.
The staff is always friendly and responsive the the guests needs. The restaurant is open daily and serves good regional food, The rooms are clean and comfortable.

Room Tip: The church side of the hotel is quieter.

Thankfully just the one night here!

The positives: cheap & clean with good sized off-road car park.

The negatives: noisy due to proximity to main road & the use of stone floors internally. Utterly soulless town.
Evening meal was 1970's standard eg. Vegetables suffering from hours in boiling water.
'Ambience' for the combined bar/dining area comes from a radio tuned to some local station.
Breakfast consists of orange squash!!, a boiling urn with some unknown form of instant coffee granules next to it and weird flavoured tea bags & a selection of cold cuts of meat & other things .. Looked pretty unpalatable & most other guests had swerved the whole breakfast experience.
It's a huge building and a lot of rooms. Has the potential to be a great location but, seems to lack any sort of vision or competence by the owners.

Professional staff, and service. Always friendly front desk. Clean room and sometimes surprise decorations on your bed. Convenient location. Ask for room at the back, front might get some noise from the road, back morning church bells but nice organ music and singing. Generous breakfast to start your day.

Tarnowskie Gory, not far from Katowice and the nearby budget carrier airport for southern Poland, is not well known as a scenic town. But as an overnight stopping place for those travelling on the A1 from Wroclow and eastwards or catching an early morning flight the Hotel Aslan is an excellent choice. The off-road parking (overlooked by the 24 hour manned reception - with wide awake staff and friendly staff when we arrived at 2 am!) and quiet street make this a relaxing and secure place to stay.
The breakfast with hot and cold dishes and a wide range of cut meats and cheeses, muesli and yoghurt was more than enough for a good start to the day and the bed was comfortably firm and spacious enough for a restless couple! We had a double room closest to the main road (and opposite the smaller Tesco supermarket) but were not disturbed by either, nor the previously mentioned neighbouring church bells.
We did not have the opportunity to eat an evening meal there, but would not hesitate in returning nor in recommending this very reasonably priced hotel with it's well deserved 3 stars.

Room Tip: The rooms facing south and close to the western end of the hotel and the more used main road were quiet, even with the windows open for ventilation.

Lovely small hotel, conveniently located just off a main road for easy access to Tarnowskie Gory or to roads to the surrounding communities. Very nice, quiet, clean room, and reasonably priced. The in house restaurant is very good, with a varied menu.
Free high speed internet and free off street parking.
There is a Tesco Supermarket right across the street (with an ATM), very handy.

I stayed for two weeks, and would definitely book this hotel if I return to the area.

Room Tip: Very quiet on the off street side.
