Well heaven in India is always been Kashmir for all.. but we thought of different place. Auli second heaven in India.
All the groovy roads, green lush mountains, deep valleys, fast flowing rivers n beautiful flowers ... If u see all this u r reaching Auli.
To take a note the roads do not lead u to auli they take u to joshimath... You have to take cable car or chair car to reach auli. The different departure destinations towards auli may show different time(Google maps time) to reach auli than they actually take.
There is only one resort in auli the Clifftop club. No other property in Auli. U may stay down in joshimath where there are different options n than take a cable car to enjoy Auli.
In Auli u may do skking (winter months) or tracking (summer months) there is temple nearby n a lake as a sightseeing.
It's a place where u can take a break from hustle n bustle of your busy city life n stay calm as there is no network no WiFi just enjoy beauty of nature.

it was just a previous night decision how to bunk the tomorrow's class when i was in IIT roorkee, we 4 boys gang found the place, book the car & out at 4.30 am. we reached at almost 7 in Joshimath. the road is so beautiful that we cant stop ourselves to get down from car & click the pics.the road after Devprayag is really dangerous in respect of bend, curves, slopes. on the morning, it was just like the postcard scene...tree, mountain, house, army tent, fence, road, chajja, grass...everything is capped with thick white snow. we even lucky to have the snow fall also.we found a JHORA freezed & the sun rays reflecting from its razor sharp ice sections. the place is totally surrounded by high mountain with snow peaks. the chilling wind, freezing temperature, cold ground were suddenly warm up as we take a sip of coffee & pakora from army camp. take necessary medicine, heavy winter cloth & lots of free mind to be blown away with the mother nature.

I can say this because I went there in the month when snowfall was least expected, yet my experience was as amazing as those who visit this beautiful place in the peak season (Winters).

It took us almost 16-18 hours to reach there by road from Delhi (the part I hated the most)! But then once we reached there, we realized it was worth it. Indeed, it is a “Switzerland” in India. We reached the resort at around 6 in the evening and the view from Joshimath to Auli is not something you would want to miss!

It is a paradise for skiing lovers (in snowy season) as well as for trek lovers.

I am a proud part of the latter category! The serenity, peace, and beauty I witnessed were one of the best experiences I have had so far. There is also an artificial lake in the middle, which caught our attention for a couple of minutes.

And yes, not to forget the famous cable car of Auli! It has two parts chairlift and the main ropeway! Unfortunately, we couldn’t get the chance to try the ropeway that connects Joshimath to Auli (because of their odd timings), but we took most of the car lift, which itself was a different experience.

I wonder if this place looks so pretty in summers that how would it be in winters? I am absolutely in love with this place and have kept it on my bucket list for next winter season!

P.S. We stayed in the Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam Hotel. The view was beautiful. The food was just fine but it was their good hospitality that kept us hooked to the hotel while I was all tempted to experience the stay in the cute hut resort right in front of GMVN.
