“4 Day Gourment extravagance!”
Reviewed 22 September 2011

Booked this excellent looking package via small luxury hotel group. The hotel offered 3 special nights of Dinner or lunch at Michelen star resturants including their own. I eventually booked just the first night at their resturant as all other times of our trip were booked solid in the evenings!! thank goodness I said later. The hotel is well situated with a good but not great view. It is located at the back of a not particularly pretty village with a large fuel station at its front. Well equiped if rather sparsley furnish room with one chair miniscule bedside tables, no table and a small cluttered desk, one small wardrobe into which was a minibar.Bathroom and shower were adequate and this was a superior double room with VIP package!! that was a handful of small biscuits and a modest fruit basket, all piled on the small desk. Our visit to their resturant that night was a disaster, we had a good glass of champagne on the bar terrace served by a delightful and friendly waiter, no on came to take our order for dinner and service was stretched. We went to the resturant which was busy! Getting to place our order took almost one hour when some frebies were served . Second courses took another hour and was of bland taste and my crab and spring bean soup contained many small pices of tendon and shell. The staff were under great pressure and the service from the sommiler was poor. Following my main dish and another hour, which was four modest prawns with tempura there was so much shell on one of the prawns I complained and asked the waitress to report to the chef or the very absent restaurant manageress. Nothing. The following morning a pre arranged wine tasting was almost missed as I was given no adress untill I rudley interrupeted a too busy receptionist to get an adress. The wine tasting was excellent at winey Parusso with delightful and very knowledgable people.A polite but critical conversation with the hotel manager later that day gave a full apology a nice bottle of wine for our VIP arrival and some champagne and delightful canapes before our dinner at a different resturant that evening! Excellent bar witer friendly reciption staff but all poorly managed for such a pretentious place.

I stayed with my family in the hotel for 3 nights early August after spending 11 days in Tuscany. We were enchanted by our room, a family suite, which was spacious and decorated with great taste, as the rest of the hotel. We were especially impressed by the very friendly and professional staff, in particular people at the reception desk and Pietro, who is worth gold as a bar tender and a real gentleman towards the guests. Breakfast is more than correct, only a pity that freshly squeezed orange juice is not included. very nice pool and wellness area, small but again very clean and elegant. Pool has heated water! They serve great food in the restaurant, prices of both wine and food are very correct given that the resto has one michelin star. Only downside is perhaps that there is not so much too be discovered in the direct neighborhood ito sightseeing but after an intensive visit to tuscany it was great to relax in this place which we enjoyed a lot!!!

It was a plesent visit during a long weekend. Room was quite small, but we didn´t spend our time in the room. Area is wonderful to visit. Staff was friendly, restaurant was excellent. Only minus was breakfast as many has told before. It was poor: e.g. juice was from a juice bottle, not fresh, pressed and so on. Please, make a good breakfast table, then this hotel is almost perfect. And because, we are from Finland, we had to test mensioned "finnish sauna"; as a matter of fact; it wasn´t near to real finnish sauna at all. Temperature was too low (+ 45 - 50 degrees).
