“Lovely until you step inside”
Reviewed 27 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

The cottage is set in lovely gardens, but had a real damp problem when we visited, with a dehumidifier running 24/7. The dampness led to salt not pouring, safety matches being difficult to strike, dishwasher tablets going soft and the bathroom floor never being dry after the first use despite an extractor fan.

The bedroom and living area are a good size for two, but the kitchen and bathroom are rather cramped.

The cottage is not really suitable for visiting the Loire chateaux as the nearest one is at least an hour's drive away. There are some nice villages to visit in the area, but if we had stayed for more a second week we would have had little to do without long drives.

Ken and Liz are nice hosts, but the advertised Wi-Fi never worked in the cottage all week.

Management Response
27 Jun 2016
Sorry you were disappointed, as we explained when you arrived we have had two weeks of continuous rain which caused server flooding through out our area and given the construction of the cottages and age moisture was going to be a problem during your stay and is something we have never had a complaint about on the past reviews, I am afraid it was a one off. As to the wifi as we explained to you during your stay the Orange box mal functioned this was replaced on the Wednesday and the wifi should have been working from this point, its just a pity you did not mention this or any of the other problems during your stay.

As to the position of the cottage the Loire Valley is 600 miles long so no cottage is near all the Chateaux, we are sorry that we cannot move it and would suggest that a map or goggle map would be handy when booking your next holiday.

“It Really Is As Good As It Looks!”
Reviewed 14 July 2013 for a stay in July 2013

La Lune is an absolutely delightful cottage, set in the peace and tranquility of the French countryside. (The absence of any traffic noise took some getting used to!)
The gardens are a joy to behold, and the location of La Lune means that its gardens are private and not overlooked.
Everything in the cottage is of the highest quality, making it a genuine home from home, and Liz and Ken are the perfect hosts.
The area is well stocked with all the trappings of rural French life, with numerous picturesque chateaux and local markets, and the cities of Tours and Poitiers are just an hour's drive away.
Despite the drive, we've both arrived back in Wakefield with our batteries fully recharged!
