“Lovely homely apartment in the beautiful village of Samoens.”
Reviewed 29 October 2015 for a stay in March 2015

Samoens is a charming traditional French village which is easily accessible from Geneva airport. There is ample parking to the rear of the accommodation and a lift to access the apartment. The apartment itself is very well appointed and homely. There is a twin bedroom to the rear with amazing views. We slept on the mezzanine level where there is a double bed and a single bed. The blinds on the front window ensure a good nights sleep and should help keep the apartment cool in warm weather. The view of the ski resort at Samoens from the balcony is spectacular and we enjoyed breakfast on the balcony even in March . The ski bus stops across the road and provides a regular service to the town and to the gondola station. It is an approx 5-10 minute walk into town to the nearest supermarket and to the rustic village square with a good selection of bars and restaurants. There is free wi Fi access and blue tooth sound system in the apartment which was greatly appreciated. The welcome bottle of wine was also a nice touch. I would highly recommend this property and would hope to go there again in the future

“Comfortable apartment in a good location”
Reviewed 17 October 2015 for a stay in April 2015

We had a wonderful stay in this comfortable and spacious apartment with our family.

We travelled here from Geneva Airport by coach and walked to the apartment from the bus station (outside Tourist Information Centre) in town. It is a easy 10 minutes walk to the apartment from the bus station. A car isn't necessary as everything can be reached by foot.

It is very comfortable and has all the necessary home comforts. It is ideal as a base to relax and chill after a busy day on the slopes. The ski bus stops at the bus stop opposite the apartment so you don't have to walk too far with your slopes and ski boots.

The kitchen is fully equipped and we cooked meals almost every night. There is a Carrefour supermarket 15-20 minutes brisk walk away from the apartment.

In Samoens town centre, there is a good selection of restaurants. There are also several ski-shops where you can pick up hire gear or to purchase outwear/ski gear.

The wifi connection in the apartment, is much appreciated especially if you have teens and pre-teens and can't be apart from their devices! There are some books and games available too.

Our kids enjoyed staying in the apartment and skiing in Samoens. They skied with Zig-Zag Ski School. We will return again, to Samoens, and highly recommend this apartment.

“Peaceful, handy base in beautiful Alpine valley”
Reviewed 9 September 2015 for a stay in June 2015

I came out to this apartment with my 6-year-old son for a start-of-the-summer getaway. We weren't sure what to expect in July as we know that Samoens is a popular ski resort; I've also skied in many Alpine resorts that I can't imagine look very charming in the summer (Val Thorens, I'm thinking of you).

However, Samoens is wonderful. The central market square has an old town, laid-back feel to it with friendly bars, restaurants including one that had (until recently) a Michelin star (and is still very good), a botanic garden and some intriguing shops. The boulangerie is proper old school yum.

A little further out there is an open air swimming pool, a river, a golf driving range and oodles of places to walk. The valley itself is stunning.

Things Samoens doesn't have - lots of nightclubs, vodka bars and Subways. Ace as far as I'm concerned.

This apartment is 5 mins walk from the town centre. It is the upper, central apartment in the eaves of a building so it has a cool mezzanine level and the main living area is double the normal height. With the views out over the balcony and the fireplace, all it needs is a bearskin rug and you'd feel like James Bond. Well, I would, maybe.

The stereo has Bluetooth hook-up, so you can get some tunes on through your phone. The kitchen has recently been modernised and the bathroom is clean and bright.

I haven't been in ski season but the apartment is 10 mins from a lift that connects to a large ski area. This is a fairly new lift which perhaps explains why the town has been spared the 1970s-concrete-nightmare-makeover that many French towns endured.

My family will be back in winter to see what the skiing is like.

I recommend.

Richard

“Great apartment for winter or summer”

I had a great time staying here, easy access to the slopes for those keen to get going, close to shops and bars for those who like a more relaxed pace. Comfortable beds, clean modern equipment in an apartment full of character - self catering very easy, if you want a lazy night in.

Straightforward transfer from Geneva airport.
I would love to return. Thank you for letting us visit.
