Dated in places but quite a good experience all round.

One week in Ours Blanc Hotel A-d-H. All in all quite a nice experience. The staff were friendly and helpful, breakfasts were great, pretty decent selection, pastries, juices, good bean to cup coffee with omelettes, crepes, fried eggs etc… to order. The reception and bar area was a bit 1980s but good if you just fancy a quick beer. Rooms are fine. Not too small as per some other reviews just not huge. Our bathroom had clearly been refurbished recently, it was modern and quite tasteful. The thing about the rooms you should know (we were on the 6th floor) is that each room has an adjoining room with a locked door in between. Excellent if you have kids and need an adjoining room but annoying if not. The sound wasn’t too bad but you could definitely hear more than you’d want to, coughing, arguments etc…
Location is not the best for the slopes but everywhere in A-d-H is a stones throw from a free bus, the people carriers that go round the town or ski-out, which this hotel ‘almost’ is. Great location for shops, restaurants (Pinocchio Pizza is amazing (just opposite) and more than just pizza) activities etc…. The spa is fine but minimal - we didn’t bother. All in all 7/10 depending on what you’ve paid I guess. I’m sure there are nicer hotels here in A-d-H but likely there are also a lot that are worse.

We stayed in the 704 room, it was nice and comfy, it had 2 floors and a terrace with beautiful view. One floor had a bathroom and sofa bed and the other a double bed and complete bathroom with jacuzzi. It had a small fridge (though it was empty, no mini bar in room service) and an electric jar to prepare tea or coffee. There was a pool, but we didn't use it. Breakfast was good, we didn't try the restaurant. There were good lockers for ski equipment. The hotel was well located, next to restaurants, stores, and to the bus stop that took you around. The staff was friendly and helpful. We had a beautiful stay.

Sleep like a baby on the most comfortable mattresses, enjoy the spotless pool, and ask the helpful staff for whatever you need. Lovely (if a little garish for some tastes) rooms with furnished balconies. Left luggage facilities for when you have to check out in the morning but aren't leaving Alpe d'Huez until the evening after your last day's skiing - they let you return to change into your normal gear, too. An extensive breakfast with lots of choice - a limited hot selection (scrambled egg, white sausage, bacon) but of cheese and charcuterie as well as the usual fresh fruit, cereals and pastries.

This hotel was quite nice but it was little things that made it not worth the £300 per night price tag. Breakfast buffet was extensive but we got a lot of pre skiing exercise getting up and down collecting salt, pepper, teaspoons, butter cups and saucers etc as well as our food items - could these not have been ready on the tables?.The bathroom was so dark with insufficient lighting that we had to use the full length mirror in the corridor for shaving/make up. WiFi was not working for the first half of our stay (we were told it didn’t work well on iPhones,) then were not advised when it was eventually fixed. Boot warmers in the boot room not working as it apparently fused the
Hotel’s system when they were turned on. Lift passes were not available to buy at the desk as advertised (the special machine required for this had not been delivered) so we had to join long queues at the lift stations to buy them. I’d chosen the Otel cos it had a spa but this was not included in the price and cost €11 to use the saunas etc. The pool was included but only offered a few hard beds to relax on and no towels available on the day I went. Staff were very pleasant and hardworking but these points let the hotel down.

We stayed 3 nights in this very good hotel around Christmas. Excellent service from all staff members. Excellent value for money, especially for the family room. Delicious breakfast.
Only drawback: 10-min walk to the ski slopes, not convenient when carrying the skis. But this is very common in Alpe Duez where appts and hotels are spread everywhere

We stayed at the hotel for a few nights over La Marmotte. Breakfast was OK, room was as expected, but frankly, the highlight of the stay was the excellent personal service we recieved at the bar. Charlene was accommodating, warm, helpful, professional and made our stay a delight.
