Chaotic, understaffed restaurant. Food was great, service was unique.. The harassed Madame really wasn't pleased to see customers walking through the door, but dragged them in anyway and shuffled the furniture and patrons around to squeeze people in. No red wine by the glass, its a bottle or nothing.

We have visited this restaurant several times in recent years, and are struck each time by two conflicting opinions...
1: The food is lovely
2: The service is amongst the slowest, meanest, and most disagreeable to be found anywhere in France. If you want to see a modern-day Mrs Fawlty in action, this is the place to go.

A very impressive large meat skewer with Pork, Lamb, Duck and Beef! Also my wife had the local dish where you cooked the various meats yourself at the table which was fun. Service was good as was the wine. Dessert we had was ok.

We ate here on a quiet Thursday evening. Everything was excellent. Portions were quite hardy (which is great when you've been out skiing, although as it was only the first days of autumn, this was not the case for us ;0). I had tartiflette (one of the best I have ever had) and my husband had a steak au poivre. We also had a bottle of red savoyard wine and this too was excellent. Finally, for dessert we had the matafan savoyard, also delicious and definitely big enough for two. As our two year old was with is, it was really nice that they had a child's menu (limited to two dishes, but it's existence at all is appreciated). Our server was very nice and efficient, overall it was a great meal, and I would definitely recommend.

This is an old fashioned (rather than chic traditional)hearty, genuine, French village restaurant. The food is excellent, best quality ingredients, traditionally and expertly prepared by the owner. I have never had as good a pirrade in terms of quality or quantity. The raclette, gratin, isles flottante were delicious and generous.
All the tables were full of families and groups enjoying themselves on both occasions we visited and Madame treated them all and ourselves as if we were old friends.
The couple who who run this restaurant seem to take genuine pleasure from feeding people well.
A rare find indeed.
