Many years ago we stumbled upon the town of Gap and wanted to revisit. Mon Hotel a Gap is close to the old town we remember with its winding streets and lovely squares and we enjoyed being able to revisit our memories. Mon Hotel a Gap itself is clean and fresh with an ample breakfast. We had a room overlooking the mountains which was lovely and we enjoyed our stay.

Room tip: It's worth paying a few Euros extra for a view

Everything was fine. We didn't realize we were coming pretty late; the receptionist waited only for us, thank you. We were able to use a free parking in front of the hotel - just 2 spaces.

WiFi didn't work and we were asked to pay cash. Unfortunately, Societe Generale gives only $100, so we didn't have much and didn't want to use it where we were supposed to use the card. We didn't, and the hotel agreed to charge the card on file later.

Without going to this hotel we can tell you the Service and attitude of the staff is an absolute disgrace. We had booked this hotel for this evening as we are visiting my husbands Mum who is dying in the hospital in Gap. We have just got the horrendous call that my mother in law has passed away whilst we are en route, we then called the hotel to explain that we won’t be there this evening (we now have to accompany my father in law who is devastated back to his home) and asked to cancel the room, we were shown no remorse and we were told that they cannot refund us as we booked through Expedia. My husband then called Expedia and explained the difficult circumstances, the lady on the phone at Expedia was lovely and said she would offer us a full refund if the hotel agreed. She then called to the hotel to confirm and they said the WOULD NOT REFUND the room as they could not re sell it!!!!!!! They are not even full this evening and had plenty of rooms to sell. It’s an absolute disgrace of customer service I will tell everyone I know the way we have been treated during such a stressful & upsetting time. To make it even worse my father In law has actually been staying in this hotel whilst looking after his terminally ill wife and they knew who he was!

We had visited this lovely private hotel before on our motorcycle trips to the Provence. The location is dead center in town, great for visiting the many good restaurants and bars in the vicinity. The rooms have all been renovated recently, and our group had no complaints at all. The staff is most helpful with everything. Breakfast is way different from most hotels in this category, they really put an effort into local, fresh and tasty products.
I can only recommend this hotel

Great breakfast with fruit salad, fresh fruit juices, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, sausages as well as continental breakfast. Not far from the town center but still quite and had a good night sleep. Parking for motorcycle in a garage. Bedroom was lovely with separate shower/toilet

Room tip: No traffic noice from our front of hotel room.
