Great experience.
Fantastic prices with great savings.
Very helpful and friendly staff. Helped to choose wines and complete the skiptax claim (I had registered before travelling).
Saved over £800 against UK prices using full UK duty free allowaces, plus got a further £70 tax rebate. Adding free ferry ticket makes this a no trainer to stock up for Christmas.
Only improvement would be a wider range of beers (Still managed to fill my allowance though).
Will definitely return.

It's fantastic to know you made such huge savings on the wine and beer by shopping at The Calais Wine Superstore - your continued support of our business is very much appreciated and we're extremely grateful that you took the trouble to leave this brilliant review. Sorry that we've taken so long to reply. Our main offering is on quality wines from France (we have a particularly popular selection of clarets and Provençal rosé), Spain, Italy and the New World, but we do also stock beers which currently include Peroni, Leffe, Birra Moretti, Kronenbourg, San Miguel and Super Bock as well as great craft beers produced locally and in the UK. We look forward to seeing you in store to stock up and save again soon.

Stopped here whilst waiting for my shuttle back to the UK.
Shop is great with lots of variety at a good price, staff also helpful.
There is parking outside.
Just make sure you lock your cars! I was so shocked (i know its on news etc) how many immigrants are in this area, must be hard on the staff, just make sure you do not leave any valuables on display in your car.

We're delighted to hear that you were impressed by the level of our customer service and the range of wines we offer. On average you save £4 a bottle on UK supermarket prices by shopping at The Calais Wine Superstore, and frequently considerably more than that! For example, with the SkipTax 15% tax refund there's an eye-popping saving of £23.85 on the great Houghton Gladstones Cabernet Sauvignon from Western Australia which has recently arrived in store with a tax free price of only £16.14 a bottle. We've also added many other great New World wines starting from only £1.69 each tax free price !! We look forward to seeing you instore again soon.

We made this our last stop on our short break to Calais. The intention was for my wife to pick up a few bottles for family and friends. The price and selection, however, led to her deciding to stock up on a few and to buy some unknown vintages as a trial. This came to almost the point of being able to claim back the tax (which is at 100 euros) so she added a few bottles to reach that point. The staff were really helpful, and the tax reclaim system is via an app but then it needs to be submitted at a kiosk at European Customs in the ferry point. All in all it was a profitable visit.

You have made some extremely useful points - especially about the additional 15% tax refund available through the SkipTax app (as long as your total qualifying spend in France is at least €100). We take particular pride in offering a high level of customer service so it’s great to hear that you had such a positive experience. In our wine range we have a good selection of the big name brands you'll see in UK supermarkets and a wide selection of top quality wines from all over the world - in fact we have just added new wines from Wolf Blass and Hardys, as well as several other great New World offerings from Houghtons, St Hallett, Berri Estates, Fish Hoek and more - all with huge savings on the price that you would pay in the UK. Poor choice, poor service and forces you to use a commercial app to reclaim tax that charges you 25%. We thought we would try this store rather than the excellent store that we have used for years. A big disappointment and we won’t be returning. Great choice if you want anything other than French wine! Store poorly laid out and labelled and flatbed trolleys unusable for a large quantity of individual bottles. Check out took an absolute age as every bottle was looked up individually. When we asked for the tax form so we could use the ferry terminal facility to claim back VAT they told us we couldn’t have one - had to use the skip tax app they said - turns out it charges 25%. We felt this was approaching a scam as not made clear on the website.

Not only do you get great deals but also excellent service, nothing too much trouble.
We asked about the “skip tax’ app which is advertised all around the warehouse (sadly I did not get the man’s name, ) but he helped by explaining every step for us to reclaim the tax on items, ( in English ) he also advised us that when buying items to take home to ask for a skip tax receipt so that we can also claim tax back on them as well and exactly where to scan our bar code to start the process, so I would like to say thank you to him.
We left Calais at 7pm and I received my refund by 10am the next day,
I read other reviews that people did not receive the money back and not recommend but if it’s done correctly it’s very easy.
Well done Calais wine store for your well trained and excellent staff
